MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,606 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 395 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 06 at SBCG Campo Grande Airport. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 146 kt. The takeoff distance was 323 m, which accounted for 12% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 26 °C and a wind speed of 8 kt from a direction of 80 °. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 kt and a headwind of 6 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead SBCG Campo Grande Airport. The aircraft ascended from an initial altitude of 2,875 ft asl to a maximum altitude of 3,628 ft asl, an increase of 753 ft in just 1 minute. During this climb, the aircraft covered a distance of 2 nm.
After reaching the desired altitude, the aircraft began its enroute descent, which started 2 miles west of SBCG Campo Grande Airport. The descent from 3,624 ft asl to 2,339 ft asl resulted in a decrease of 1,285 ft in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm.
The final approach to runway 06 at SBCG Campo Grande Airport was made from the southwest, with the aircraft heading 44.0 ° at a distance of 2 nm and an altitude of 504 ft agl. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 115 kt. Although the touchdown speed was a little fast, the touchdown rate was good at -191 fpm, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 1,118 m, which accounted for 43% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking just 1 minute and covering less than 1 nm.
The total flight distance was 8 nm, and the flight duration was 6 minutes. The aircraft used 144 kg of fuel during the flight, indicating an efficient use of resources. Overall, the flight was characterized by a smooth and controlled climb, descent, and landing, with good weather conditions and a successful touchdown.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at SBCG Campo Grande Airport, achieving a score of 99.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 44.0° at 2 nautical miles and 504 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a steady course, ensuring a smooth final approach.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 06, which has a length of 2,606 meters. The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 120 knots was well within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 394 meters was also within the expected parameters, indicating a well-executed landing.
However, the touchdown speed of 115 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have been due to various factors such as wind conditions or pilot preference. Nevertheless, the touchdown rate of -191 feet per minute (fpm) was satisfactory, indicating a controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and wind speeds of 8 knots at 80°. The crosswind component was minimal at 5 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots. These conditions contributed to a relatively smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,118 meters was 43% of the runway length, which is a reasonable figure considering the aircraft's weight and the wind conditions. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and decision-making skills. The minor deviations from the desired touchdown speed and distance were not significant enough to impact the overall score, which reflects a high level of proficiency in landing the Airbus A320 at SBCG Campo Grande Airport.
