Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,494 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 307 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking area to the runway at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes, which took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 09, with a takeoff distance of 708 meters, which was 30% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 142 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 7°C temperature and a wind speed of 9 knots at 100 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 8 knots. After departing from Trondheim, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northeast of Hell, Trondelag, Norway. The climb took 18 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 994 feet above sea level to 43,013 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 4 miles southeast of Dombas, Innlandet, Norway, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 71 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 21 miles northwest of Torpo, Viken, Norway. The descent took 27 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 42,990 feet above sea level to 1,426 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 140 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 18 at ENZV Stavanger Airport, Sola, was made from the north, heading 179.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,400 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 18, which had a length of 2,494 meters. The threshold height was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 118 knots. The touchdown distance was also good at 307 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 117 knots, and the touchdown rate was heavy at -626 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.3 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 17.1 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at Stavanger Airport were 6°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 280 degrees, with a crosswind of 11 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 771 meters, which was 31% of the runway length.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 317 nautical miles, and the flight took 64 minutes. The aircraft used 910 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed at ENZV Stavanger Airport, Sola, with a score of 89.3%. The final approach to runway 18 was initiated from the north, heading 179.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,400 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was executed within the designated parameters, with a good threshold speed of 118 knots.
However, there were some minor discrepancies during the landing. The threshold height at 58 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal approach path. Additionally, the touchdown speed of 117 knots was a little fast, which may have contributed to the heavy touchdown rate of -626 feet per minute (fpm). A heavy touchdown rate can be a concern as it may put additional stress on the aircraft's landing gear and potentially lead to a bumpy ride for passengers.
The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 4.3 meters from the centreline, which may have been due to the crosswind or tailwind conditions. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C and a wind speed of 12 knots at 280°. The crosswind component was 11 knots, while the tailwind component was 2 knots.
The total landing distance of 771 meters was within the acceptable range, accounting for 31% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 17.1 meters from the centreline, which may have been due to the aircraft's initial touchdown position or the pilot's control inputs during the rollout phase.
Overall, while there were some minor issues during the landing, Aircraft C750 demonstrated a good level of proficiency and control, resulting in a score of 89.3%. With some adjustments to the approach path and touchdown speed, the pilot can further improve the landing performance and achieve a higher score.
