Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,947 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,947 m of the 2,713 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 777 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from NTAA Faa'a International Airport in Papeete, French Polynesia, the Boeing 777-300 began its journey with a taxiing period of 7 minutes, covering 4 nautical miles to reach the runway. The departure roll commenced on runway 22, with a takeoff distance of 1,733 meters, accounting for 53% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 193 knots, overcoming a local wind of 3 knots at 319 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed to its initial cruising altitude, it traversed 136 nautical miles in 19 minutes, ascending from 983 feet above sea level to 32,500 feet. The enroute level cruise phase started 42 miles southwest of NTGC Tikehau Airport, lasting 62 minutes and covering 538 nautical miles. The aircraft then underwent several climb and cruise phases, adjusting its altitude and heading to optimize fuel efficiency and navigate through various weather conditions. Notably, the climb from 33,519 feet to 34,994 feet in 2 minutes and 14 nautical miles demonstrated the aircraft's impressive rate of climb.
As the flight approached its destination, KLAX Los Angeles International Airport, the aircraft began its descent from 36,999 feet to 1,400 feet in 30 minutes, covering 163 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 24R was executed from the east, with a heading of 263.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,264 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown point 365 meters beyond the touchdown zone and a touchdown speed of 138 knots. The total landing distance of 1,871 meters accounted for 69% of the runway length, and the runway rollout alignment was satisfactory. After taxiing to the parking area, the aircraft completed its journey, covering a total distance of 3,821 nautical miles and consuming 62,725 kilograms of fuel in 469 minutes.
The Boeing 777-300 touched down on runway 24R at KLAX Los Angeles International Airport with a threshold speed of 144 kt, meeting the target. The aircraft's descent was slightly above the target height of 58 ft agl, but the touchdown speed of 138 kt was within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -182 fpm was also satisfactory, indicating a controlled and stable approach.
The touchdown point was located 365 m beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may have been due to a slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position by 4.1 m from the centreline. However, the runway rollout alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the critical phases of the landing. The total landing distance of 1,871 m was 69% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range.
The approach quality was generally good, with a heading of 263.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,264 ft agl. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 18 °C and a wind of 4 kt at 249 °, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing. Overall, the landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 91.0%.
