MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,851 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 767 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Citation CJ3+ with the registration N60US, then departed from runway 26R at Tashkent International Airport (UTTT). The takeoff distance was 423 meters, which accounted for 12% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 108 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 299 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The aircraft climbed to a height of 33,067 feet above sea level (asl) in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 53 nautical miles. This climb phase started overhead Tashkent International Airport.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 11 nautical miles. This cruise phase started 9 miles southwest of Malekskaya Airport (UAMZ) in Turkistan, Kazakhstan. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 4 miles east of Dustlik East Airport (UTDI) in the Jizzakh Region of Uzbekistan. The descent phase took 9 minutes to complete, during which the aircraft descended from a height of 33,424 feet asl to 14,221 feet asl, covering a distance of 58 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nautical miles. This cruise phase started 5 miles north of Bulung'ur Shahri in the Samarkand Region of Uzbekistan. The aircraft then began its final descent phase, which started 4 miles north of Jomboy Shahri in the Samarkand Region of Uzbekistan. The descent phase took 7 minutes to complete, during which the aircraft descended from a height of 13,306 feet asl to 3,442 feet asl, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09 at Samarkand Airport (UTSS) was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 96.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,232 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was made on runway 09, which had a length of 2,851 meters. The threshold height at 57 feet agl was slightly above the target, while the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 98 knots.
The touchdown point was 389 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 88 knots and a touchdown rate of -47 feet per minute (fpm), which was perfect. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 69 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 12 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,411 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 150 nautical miles, which was completed in 43 minutes, and the aircraft used 314 kilograms of fuel.
The Citation CJ3+ aircraft, registered as N60US, successfully landed at UTSS Samarkand Airport, achieving a score of 93.4%. The final approach was conducted from the west, heading 96.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,232 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 09, which has a length of 2,851 meters. The threshold height at 57 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating a minor deviation in the approach. The threshold speed was also slightly below the target at 98 knots, but this did not significantly impact the landing.
The touchdown point was located 389 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 88 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -47 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments in the approach or landing technique. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 37°C and a wind speed of 13 knots at 69°. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,411 meters was 49% of the runway length, which is a relatively efficient landing. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability during the landing roll. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
