MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 6,953 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,692 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 23 at CNZ3 Chatham-Kent Airport. The aircraft, a Vision Jet, took off with a takeoff distance of 944 feet, which accounted for 19% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 103 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 25°F and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 240°. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 19 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb overhead CYCK Chatham-Kent Airport, located in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,683 feet above sea level to 22,392 feet above sea level, an increase of 20,710 feet, in just 15 minutes. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 60 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 3 miles west of CPQ2 Culloden, also located in Ontario, Canada. This phase of the flight lasted for 14 minutes and covered a distance of 86 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile south-east of The Beaches, Ontario, Canada. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 22,156 feet above sea level to 1,856 feet above sea level, a decrease of 20,300 feet, in 14 minutes. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 56 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at CYPQ Peterborough Municipal Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 256.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,224 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with the touchdown point being 243 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 62 knots, which was considered good, and the touchdown rate was also good at -160 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centreline, but the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 23°F and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 212°, resulting in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 10 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,138 feet, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The total flight distance was 207 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 46 minutes. Notably, the aircraft used 0 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at CYPQ Peterborough Municipal Airport, achieving a score of 97.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 256.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,224 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions, which included a temperature of 23°F and wind speeds of 13 knots at 212°.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 27, which has a length of 6,953 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 96 knots. However, the touchdown point was slightly beyond the designated touchdown zone, being 243 feet away. The touchdown speed of 62 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -160 feet per minute (fpm) was also good.
The local weather conditions presented a moderate crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 10 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the landing. The total landing distance of 2,138 feet was 31% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control during the landing phase.
Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at CYPQ Peterborough Municipal Airport was a success, with the pilot executing a precise and controlled approach, despite the challenging weather conditions. The aircraft's performance and the pilot's skills were evident in the smooth and efficient landing, which resulted in a high score of 97.8%.
