Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,633 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 416 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight took place in a Kodiak 100 aircraft and began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway at KBDE Baudette International Airport that lasted 27 minutes and covered 3 nautical miles. The departure roll from runway 30 occurred, requiring a takeoff distance of 240 meters, which accounted for 14% of the runway. The lifting speed of 80 knots was achieved successfully.
As the flight departed, the local weather conditions were assessed as temperature 8 degrees Celsius, wind speed of 6 knots at a direction of 250 degrees, a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. From the airport, the enroute climb began, rising from an initial altitude of 1,381 feet above sea level to an altitude of 4,335 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,953 feet in just 3 minutes. This was achieved while covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered an enroute level cruise, starting 3 miles south west of 16MN Baudette Flying Service Seaplane Base. This cruise lasted 5 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles. Following this, the enroute descent began 4 miles east of 87MN Erickson Airport Roosevelt, where the aircraft descended from 3,882 feet above sea level to 2,804 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,078 feet in 2 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed shortly after, starting 2 miles north of 87MN Erickson Airport Roosevelt and lasted 4 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 31 at KRRT Warroad International Memorial Airport was initiated, with the aircraft approaching from the south east, flying at 4 nautical miles from the runway and 1,139 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down successfully on runway 31, with the runway length measuring 1,633 meters. The threshold speed of 70 knots was met, and the touchdown distance of 414 meters was satisfactory. The touchdown speed of 59 knots and the touchdown rate of -48 feet per minute were also satisfactory. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.8 meters from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 694 meters, accounting for 42% of the runway length. Local weather conditions remained the same, with a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius and winds of 8 knots at 250 degrees. The crosswind was 8 knots and the headwind was 3 knots. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance of 35 nautical miles was achieved in 22 minutes and the aircraft used a total of 76 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft, Kodiak 100, successfully landed at KRRT Warroad International Memorial Airport, scoring a high grade of 95.7%. The final approach was initiated from the south east, heading towards runway 31 at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,139 feet above ground level.
The pilot demonstrated good control of the aircraft as it approached the runway, maintaining a steady speed of 70 knots at the threshold. The touchdown distance was also satisfactory, measuring 414 meters. Notably, the touchdown speed of 59 knots was well within the acceptable range, and the rate of descent was perfectly controlled at -48 feet per minute.
However, there were a few minor discrepancies in the landing performance. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5 meters from the centerline, and the roll-out alignment was also slightly off by 9.8 meters. Despite these minor deviations, the overall performance was satisfactory, and the aircraft came to a stop within a reasonable distance.
Local weather conditions played a significant role in the landing, with a light wind speed of 8 knots from 250 degrees and a slight headwind component of 3 knots. The temperature was 8 degrees Celsius, which was not considered a significant factor in this case. Overall, the pilot demonstrated good skill and control in navigating the aircraft to a safe landing.
