MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,451 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,451 ft of the 9,015 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 934 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-MAX 8 taxied from the parking area to runway 35 at KPNS Pensacola International Airport, covering roughly 1 nm in 8 minutes.
During the departure roll on runway 35, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 152 kt and became airborne after a takeoff distance of 5,278 ft, representing 75 % of the runway. Ambient conditions were 75 °F with a 2 kt wind from 0°, providing a 2 kt headwind and no crosswind.
Climb commenced about 1 mile southeast of Ferry Pass, Florida, with the airplane climbing from 1,082 ft asl to 39,002 ft asl, an increase of 37,919 ft achieved in 22 minutes while covering 138 nm.
The first cruise segment began 5 miles west of Maplesville, Alabama, and continued for 45 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 302 nm at level altitude.
Descent started overhead KCGI Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, Missouri, with a reduction from 38,363 ft asl to 5,365 ft asl, a loss of 32,999 ft accomplished in 18 minutes over a distance of 100 nm.
A brief cruise followed, initiating 1 mile northwest of 02K Arrowhead, St. Louis, Missouri, lasting 2 minutes and covering 5 nm.
The next descent began 2 miles south of 46MO Sontimer Airport, Saint Peters, Missouri, descending from 4,970 ft asl to 1,887 ft asl, a decrease of 3,083 ft in 5 minutes while traveling 11 nm.
Final approach to runway 12L at KSTL St. Louis Lambert International Airport was conducted from the northwest on a heading of 123.0°, intercepting the approach at 4 nm and 1,348 ft agl.
Landing on runway 12L, which is 9,015 ft long, occurred with a threshold speed of 137 kt (slightly below target) and a touchdown distance of 935 ft. The aircraft touched down at 133 kt with a smooth rate of -133 fpm and perfect alignment. Local weather at the time was 72 °F with a 4 kt wind from 80°, providing a 3 kt headwind and 2 kt crosswind.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 5,155 ft, representing 57 % of the runway, and the alignment remained very good throughout the deceleration phase.
After exiting the runway, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering less than 1 nm in 5 minutes.
In total, the flight covered 563 nm, required 107 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 9,759 lbs of fuel.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 approached runway 12L at KSTL from the north-west on a heading of 123.0 °, 4 nm out and 1,348 ft agl. The final approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
During the threshold and flare the aircraft maintained a good threshold height and a threshold speed slightly below target at 137 kt. Local weather was 72 °F with wind 4 kt from 80 °, a 2 kt crosswind component and a 3 kt headwind component.
Touchdown occurred 935 ft down the runway at a speed of 133 kt, with a smooth touchdown rate of minus 133 fpm and perfect runway touchdown alignment.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 5,155 ft, representing 57 % of the 9,015 ft runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
Maintain the current precision on alignment and speed control while adjusting the approach speed to meet the target value, as the only notable deviation was the threshold speed slightly below target. This minor refinement will help preserve the excellent overall score of 99.5 %.
