MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,596 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 365 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, an SR22, then departed from runway 26 at KCMA Camarillo International Airport. The takeoff distance was 276 meters, which is 15% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 79 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 17°C and a wind speed of 19 knots at 259°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile west of KCMA Camarillo International Airport. The climb started from an altitude of 1,078 feet above sea level and reached 3,521 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,443 feet, in just 3 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, flying overhead El Rio, California, for 2 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles.
The enroute climb phase resumed 1 mile northeast of KCMA Camarillo International Airport, with the aircraft climbing from 3,934 feet above sea level to 9,850 feet above sea level, an increase of 5,916 feet, in 5 minutes and covering 11 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, flying 3 miles southeast of Fillmore, California, for 71 minutes and covering 195 nautical miles.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent 9 miles northeast of 41CL Conner Goffs, California. The descent started from an altitude of 9,259 feet above sea level and reached 4,007 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,252 feet, in 3 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, flying 5 miles south of 1L4 Kidwell Airport, Cal Nev Ari, Nevada, for 13 minutes and covering 19 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase resumed overhead A20 Sun Valley Bullhead City, Arizona, with the aircraft descending from 3,656 feet above sea level to 2,771 feet above sea level, a decrease of 886 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, flying 4 miles north of A20 Sun Valley Bullhead City, for 3 minutes and covering 6 nautical miles.
The final enroute descent phase started 1 mile northeast of Bullhead City, Arizona, with the aircraft descending from 2,321 feet above sea level to 926 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,395 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 16 at KIFP Laughlin Bullhead International Airport, flying from the north at a heading of 175.0° and an altitude of 272 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 16 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 365 meters and a touchdown speed of 78 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was smooth at -133 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 17°C and a wind speed of 7 knots at 30°.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 257 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 112 minutes. The aircraft used 89 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The SR22 aircraft successfully landed at KIFP Laughlin Bullhead International Airport, achieving a high score of 94.4%. The final approach was conducted from the north, heading 175.0° at an altitude of 272 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft maintained a steady course as it descended onto runway 16, which has a length of 2,596 meters.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was well above the target speed, indicating a controlled approach. The touchdown distance of 365 meters was also within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 78 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have been due to the aircraft's momentum or the pilot's decision to touch down at a slightly higher speed.
The landing rate was smooth, with a descent rate of -133 feet per minute, indicating a controlled and stable touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and attention to detail. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 17°C and a gentle wind of 7 knots from 30°.
The crosswind component was relatively light at 4 knots, and the tailwind component was 6 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly faster touchdown speed. The total landing distance of 1,085 meters was 42% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the landing roll.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated a high level of skill and proficiency. The aircraft's performance was satisfactory, and the landing was conducted within acceptable limits.
