MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 8,238 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 8,238 ft of the 11,467 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,787 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at SVPR General Manuel Carlos Piar International Airport, taking 7 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 08, with a takeoff distance of 4,652 feet, which was 69% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 138 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 91°F temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 101°. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was also 2 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile northeast of the airport, where the aircraft climbed from 1,479 feet above sea level to 31,941 feet above sea level, an increase of 30,462 feet in 17 minutes, covering 88 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles southeast of SVST San Tomé Airport El Tigre, and lasted 27 minutes, covering 192 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 8 miles north of Caraballeda, where it descended from 31,994 feet above sea level to 3,980 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,014 feet in 7 minutes, covering 48 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 23 miles north of El Limon, and lasted 17 minutes, covering 24 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 10 miles west of Catia La Mar, where it descended from 3,899 feet above sea level to 1,520 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,380 feet in 3 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10 at SVMI Simón Bolívar International Airport was from the west, heading 88.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,333 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 10 was successful, with a touchdown point 1,466 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 172 knots, which was fast, and the touchdown rate was firm at -375 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 84°F temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 36°. The crosswind was 3 knots, and the headwind was 2 knots. The total landing distance was 8,017 feet, which was 70% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking from the runway, taking 5 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 369 nautical miles, taking 89 minutes, and the aircraft used 8,439 pounds of fuel.
The aircraft, FNX320_TCACFM, successfully landed at Simón Bolívar International Airport (SVMI) on runway 10. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 88.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,333 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's performance during the landing was evaluated, and it scored 86.5%.
The aircraft's approach to the runway was satisfactory, with a touchdown point located 1,466 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone. However, the touchdown speed was higher than the target, reaching 172 knots. This excessive speed resulted in a firm touchdown rate of -375 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was deemed very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 84°F and a gentle wind of 4 knots from a direction of 36°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. These conditions likely contributed to the aircraft's ability to maintain a stable approach and touchdown.
The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 8,017 feet, which accounted for approximately 70% of the runway's length. This is a relatively long landing distance, but it was still within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, while the aircraft's touchdown speed and rate were not ideal, the landing was still considered successful due to the satisfactory approach, good runway touchdown alignment, and favorable weather conditions.
