Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,357 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,357 m of the 3,670 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 758 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A319 then departed from runway 29 at KRDM Roberts Field, with a takeoff distance of 1,309 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 134 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 14 knots at 340 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Redmond, Oregon, and rising from 4,028 feet above sea level to 11,273 feet above sea level, an increase of 7,245 feet in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 3 miles southwest of KTEE Terrebonne Airport, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. However, the aircraft then began another climb, this time from 12,038 feet above sea level to 38,072 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,034 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 111 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 9 miles northwest of 2OR6 Lockhart Airport, and lasted for 72 minutes, covering a distance of 557 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent, starting 1 mile west of KSBS Steamboat Springs Bob Adams Field, and descending from 38,162 feet above sea level to 6,607 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,555 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 111 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34R at KDEN Denver International Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 359.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,239 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown point 355 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and a touchdown speed of 118 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was firm at -376 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 26 knots at 150 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a tailwind of 22 knots. The total landing distance was 2,290 meters, which accounted for 62% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 18.7 meters from the centerline.
The flight then concluded with the aircraft taxiing to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 799 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 129 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 5,213 kilograms.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at KDEN Denver International Airport on runway 34R, achieving a score of 87.4%. The final approach was initiated from the south, heading 359.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,239 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 131 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 355 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 118 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate was firm at -376 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to a slightly longer landing distance.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 33°C and a wind speed of 26 knots from a direction of 150°. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a tailwind of 22 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's alignment and landing distance. The total landing distance was 2,290 meters, accounting for 62% of the available runway length.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was found to be misaligned by 18.7 meters from the centerline, which may have been a result of the initial touchdown position being off-center. Despite these minor deviations, the overall landing performance of the Airbus A319 was satisfactory, with a score of 87.4%.
