Improve the takeoff
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,135 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 267 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the HJET CLI4D took off from parking at KHCR Heber City Mun-Mcdonald and taxied to runway 04, a distance of less than 1 nm. The duration of the taxi was 6 minutes. The takeoff roll on runway 04 was 4,879 ft, which was 71% of the total runway length. The liftoff speed was 120 kn. The local weather at the time of departure was a temperature of 45°F with no wind, resulting in 0 kn crosswind, headwind, and tailwind.
The enroute climb started 1 mile east of Heber City and climbed from 6,820 ft asl to 36,787 ft asl, covering a distance of 50 nm over a duration of 16 minutes. The enroute level cruise began 18 miles northwest of Neola, with a duration of 14 minutes covering a distance of 100 nm.
The enroute descent began 9 miles east of KRAE Rangely Airport Rangely, descending from 36,830 ft asl to 9,252 ft asl over a distance of 76 nm and a duration of 15 minutes. The landing took place on runway 15 at KASE Aspen-Pitkin Co/Sardy Field, where the runway length was 7,006 ft and the threshold height was 19 ft agl. The touchdown occurred 881 ft from the threshold at a speed of 104 kn with a VSI of 95 ft/m. The local weather at the time of landing was a temperature of 59°F with no wind, resulting in 0 kn crosswind, headwind, and tailwind. The total landing distance was 2,685 ft, which was 38% of the runway length.
The distance from the runway to parking was less than 1 nm, and the duration of taxiing from the runway to parking was 1 minute. Overall, the total flight distance covered was 233 nm with a total flight time of 64 minutes, using 847 lbs of fuel.
Aircraft landing with a score of 99.4% indicates a very high level of performance and skill during each phase of the landing process. The approach phase stood out with excellent glideslope alignment, which is crucial in maintaining a stable descent and approach towards the runway. This indicates strong precision and control from the pilot in adjusting the aircraft for a smooth landing.
Moving on to the landing phase, the good threshold height and perfect landing flare are key elements of a successful landing. The threshold height plays a significant role in ensuring the aircraft touches down at the right point on the runway, while the perfect landing flare demonstrates a flawless execution of the landing technique. This phase sets the foundation for a safe and controlled touchdown.
In the touchdown phase, the perfect touchdown rate and touchdown distance inside the touchdown zone highlight the pilot's ability to accurately bring the aircraft to the ground. While the slightly above target speed shows room for improvement, the touchdown position just 12 ft from the centerline showcases strong alignment with the runway. This phase indicates a successful transition from the approach and landing phases to the actual touchdown on the runway.
Finally, the rollout phase showed a runway alignment just 11 ft from the centerline, emphasizing the pilot's capability to maintain straight and controlled movement post-landing. Overall, the detailed analysis of each phase of the landing process suggests the pilot's excellent handling of the aircraft and adherence to standard landing procedures.
With such a high landing score, there is clear evidence of skill, precision, and proficiency in executing a safe and successful landing. The pilot should be commended for their exceptional performance and encouraged to continue striving for excellence in their future flights.
