Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,635 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 619 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-600 taxied from the parking area to the departure runway in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nm.
The aircraft commenced its departure roll on runway 16 at SPJR Mayor General FAP Armando Revoredo Iglesias Airport, accelerating through a takeoff distance of 1,584 m (63 % of the runway) and lifting off at 141 kt. Ambient conditions were 15 °C with calm wind (0 kt at 72°), no cross-wind and no head-wind component.
Climb began 1 mile east of Cajamarca, Peru, with the airplane ascending from 9,706 ft asl to 40,500 ft asl - a gain of 30,793 ft - over 35 minutes while covering 281 nm.
Level cruise was established 3 miles southwest of Chancay, Lima, Peru, and persisted for 320 minutes, during which the flight traversed 2,563 nm.
Descent was initiated 9 miles north of SCDW Almirante Schroeders Airport, Isla Dawson, Chile, with the aircraft descending from 40,834 ft asl to 1,576 ft asl - a loss of 39,258 ft - in 23 minutes and covering 140 nm.
The final approach to runway 25 at SAWH Malvinas Argentinas Airport was flown from the east, on a heading of 266.0°, at 4 nm and 1,483 ft agl.
Landing on runway 25, whose length is 2,635 m, was achieved with a threshold speed of 126 kt. Touchdown occurred 197 m beyond the touchdown zone at 111 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 86 fpm and perfect runway alignment. Local weather reported 4 °C, wind 2 kt from 60°, a 1 kt cross-wind and a 2 kt tail-wind. The total landing distance recorded was 1,006 m, representing 38 % of the runway.
During rollout the aircraft maintained perfect alignment and decelerated within the 1,006 m landing distance, completing the landing phase without deviation.
The airplane taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 2,992 nm, took 387 (units as given), and consumed 14,344 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-600 entered the final approach to runway 25 at SAWH Malvinas Argentinas Airport from the east on a heading of 266.0° at 4 nm and 1,483 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits. Local weather was 4 °C with wind 2 kt from 060°, a 1 kt crosswind component and a 2 kt tailwind component.
At threshold the aircraft displayed good threshold height. Threshold speed was well above target at 126 kt. The flare proceeded from this condition without further comment.
Touchdown occurred 197 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 111 kt, noted as a little fast. Touchdown rate was excellent at minus 86 fpm and runway touchdown alignment was perfect. Total landing distance was 1,006 m, representing 38 % of the 2,635 m runway.
Rollout alignment was perfect throughout the remaining distance.
Minor refinements should focus on reducing the threshold and touchdown speeds toward their targets to bring the touchdown point closer to the designated zone, which will further optimise runway utilisation despite the already high score of 98.7 %.
