Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,441 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 436 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Göteborg Landvetter Airport, taking approximately 9 minutes to cover a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 03, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,724 meters, which accounted for 52% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 159 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of -6°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots at a direction of 343°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile north of Göteborg Landvetter Airport, rising from an altitude of 1,552 feet above sea level to 32,689 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,137 feet, in just 18 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 110 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase started 2 miles west of Larvik, Norway, and lasted for 5 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 38 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent 4 miles west of Folkestad, Norway, descending from an altitude of 32,727 feet above sea level to 1,426 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,301 feet, in 26 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 121 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 35 at Bergen Airport, Flesland, was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 351.0° at an altitude of 1,260 feet above ground level, 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing took place on runway 35, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 131 knots, which was slightly faster than the recommended threshold speed. The touchdown distance was 438 meters, and the touchdown rate was -193 feet per minute, which was considered good. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.6 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -9°C, with a wind speed of 3 knots at a direction of 60°.
The total landing distance was 1,379 meters, which accounted for 56% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft was able to taxi to the parking area in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 277 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 62 minutes, during which the aircraft used 2,599 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at ENBR Bergen Airport, Flesland, with a score of 98.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 351.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,260 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft touched down on runway 35, which has a length of 2,441 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 138 knots was also within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 131 knots was slightly faster than desired, indicating that the pilots may have needed to apply a bit more braking during the landing. The touchdown rate of -193 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.6 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilots' alignment during the final approach. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were cold, with a temperature of -9°C, and a light wind of 3 knots from 60°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 1,379 meters was 56% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and were able to bring the aircraft to a stop in a straight line.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilots demonstrated good control and precision during the final approach and touchdown phases. However, there were a few minor deviations from the desired performance, including a slightly fast touchdown speed and a slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position.
