MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,985 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 617 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 23R at Manchester Airport, where the Airbus A321 took off with a takeoff distance of 1,135 meters, which is 47% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 158 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 120 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile north of Mobberley in Cheshire East, England, at an altitude of 1,208 feet above sea level. The climb continued for 19 minutes, covering a distance of 121 nautical miles, and resulted in an increase of 34,112 feet in altitude, reaching a maximum altitude of 35,319 feet above sea level.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Beenham in West Berkshire, England, and lasted for 85 minutes, covering a distance of 648 nautical miles. This was followed by an enroute descent that began 2 miles east of Morella in the Comunitat Valenciana region of Spain. The descent from 34,832 feet above sea level to 1,438 feet above sea level took 26 minutes, covering a distance of 143 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 28 at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport was made from the east, heading 280 degrees, at an altitude of 1,333 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 28, which has a length of 2,985 meters. The threshold height at 66 feet above ground level was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 141 knots.
The touchdown point was 199 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 129 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -207 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 280 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,256 meters, which is 42% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. Taxiing to the parking from the runway took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 920 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 139 minutes. The aircraft used 5,894 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at LEAL Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, with a score of 88.7%. The final approach to runway 28 was initiated from the east, heading 280.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,333 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was executed in accordance with standard procedures, with a good threshold speed of 141 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 129 knots, which was within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown rate was slightly higher than ideal at -207 feet per minute (fpm), classified as fair. The touchdown point was 199 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing path.
The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 5.1 meters from the centerline, which could be attributed to a minor deviation during the final approach. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 4°C and a gentle headwind of 3 knots from a direction of 280°. The crosswind component was negligible at 0 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,256 meters was 42% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, allowing for a stable and controlled deceleration.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and coming to a stop within a reasonable distance. However, there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters, which may be addressed through further training and practice to improve the aircraft's performance and safety.
