Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,986 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 680 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LZIB M. R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava, Slovakia. This process took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 31, and the aircraft lifted off after covering 56% of the runway's length, reaching a liftoff speed of 162 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 18°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots blowing from a direction of 280°. This resulted in a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead LZIB M. R. Štefánik Airport. During this phase, the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,441 feet above sea level to 29,159 feet, an increase of 27,718 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 71 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 34 nautical miles. This phase took place 2 miles south of Loosdorf in Austria. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 2 miles southwest of Haag in Austria. During this phase, the aircraft descended from an altitude of 29,188 feet to 9,720 feet, a decrease of 19,467 feet, in 12 minutes and covering a distance of 65 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 21 nautical miles. This phase took place 2 miles southwest of Gilgenberg am Weilhart in Austria. The aircraft then began its second enroute descent, which started 1 mile south of Jettenbach in Germany. During this phase, the aircraft descended from an altitude of 9,573 feet to 2,919 feet, a decrease of 6,654 feet, in 5 minutes and covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 6 minutes and covered a distance of 15 nautical miles. This phase took place 2 miles northeast of Velden in Germany. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 26R at EDDM Munich Airport, which was located to the east. The aircraft was heading in a direction of 264.0° at an altitude of 1,220 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing took place on runway 26R, which had a length of 3,986 meters. The threshold height at 68 feet above ground level was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 140 knots. The touchdown point was 262 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 131 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -293 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots blowing from a direction of 300°. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,235 meters, which was 31% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 17 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 232 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 74 minutes. The aircraft used a
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 26R at EDDM Munich Airport, achieving a score of 90.0%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 264.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,220 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach to the runway was precise, with a threshold height that was slightly above the target, indicating a minor deviation from the ideal approach path.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 131 knots, which was a little fast, but still within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -293 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the aircraft's descent was not excessively steep. However, the touchdown point was 262 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot.
The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a minor error in navigation or control during the final approach. Despite these minor deviations, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively to bring the aircraft to a stop.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C and a wind speed of 14 knots from 300°. The crosswind component was 9 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots, which may have contributed to the slight deviations in the aircraft's approach and touchdown. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop within 31% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance.
