Hold the approach angle
Preparing for a stable approach will give you time to decide on whether to attempt the landing or going around. Too much altitude with a high sink rate will result in carrying too much speed onto the runway. Configuring flaps and the gear late also won't help the speed decay.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach that landed joined below the 300 ft gate, after a go-around. The gate assessed on the earlier approach is not shown - it was not the landing's.

The 347 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking area to the runway, which took 614 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna 208B, then departed from runway 05 at EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen. The takeoff distance was 47 meters, which accounted for 7% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 69 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, a wind speed of 4 knots at 51°, with no crosswind and a headwind of 4 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile east of EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen Klausheide, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The climb took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles, with the aircraft rising from 831 feet above sea level to 10,099 feet above sea level, an increase of 9,268 feet. The enroute level cruise then started overhead Nordhorn, lasting 20 minutes and covering 3 nautical miles.
The enroute descent began overhead EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen Klausheide, with the aircraft descending from 10,097 feet above sea level to 2,952 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,145 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. Another enroute level cruise started 1 mile south east of EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen Klausheide, lasting 71 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The final enroute descent began 1 mile south east of EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen Klausheide, with the aircraft descending from 2,952 feet above sea level to 340 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,613 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 05 at EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen was made from the south west, with the aircraft heading 54.0° at 0 nautical miles and 246 feet above ground level.
However, a go-around was initiated at 648 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 05 at EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen, which had a length of 680 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was 66 knots. The touchdown point was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway. The touchdown speed was 51 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was firm at -334 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.4 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions during landing were characterized by a temperature of 16°C, a wind speed of 6 knots at 61°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 6 knots. The total landing distance was 515 meters, which accounted for 76% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. Taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 35 nautical miles, taking 25 minutes, and the aircraft used 68 kilograms of fuel.
The Cessna 208B aircraft successfully landed on runway 05 at EDWN Flugplatz Nordhorn-Lingen, but the landing was not without its challenges. The initial approach to the runway from the south west, heading 54.0°, was at 0 nm and 246 ft above ground level (agl). However, the aircraft scored 77.8% in its landing, indicating that there were some areas for improvement.
One of the main issues with the landing was the final approach to the runway. The threshold height at 82 ft agl was significantly above the target, which could have made it difficult for the pilot to judge the correct landing height. Additionally, the threshold speed was excessively high at 109 kt, which is above the recommended speed for landing. This could have put additional stress on the aircraft and made it more difficult to control.
Fortunately, the second landing attempt was more successful. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was within the recommended range at 66 kt. However, the touchdown point was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway. This could have been due to the pilot's decision to touch down at a slower speed of 51 kt, which is good, but may have resulted in a longer rollout.
The touchdown rate was firm at -334 fpm, which is within the acceptable range. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.4 m from the centreline, which could have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's approach. The local weather conditions were relatively calm, with a temperature of 16 °C and a wind of 6 kt at 61°.
The total landing distance was 515 m, which is 76% of the available runway. This is a relatively long distance, but it was still within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, while the landing was not perfect, the pilot was able to recover and make a successful landing on the second attempt. With some adjustments to the approach and landing technique, the pilot should be able to improve their score and achieve a more consistent and safe landing.
