Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 4,911 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the full 4,911 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 827 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
This flight was conducted in a Cessna 152 aircraft, departing from runway 06R at KBKL Burke Lakefront Airport. Taxiing from the parking area to the runway took approximately 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The takeoff roll was successful, with a takeoff distance of 267 feet, which is 5% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was achieved at 52 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 56°F and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 40°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 10 knots. The aircraft climbed out of KBKL Burke Lakefront Airport, reaching an altitude of 1,138 feet above sea level, an increase of 173 feet from the initial altitude of 965 feet. This climb was achieved in 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The enroute level cruise phase of the flight began 1 mile north of KBKL Burke Lakefront Airport and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 06R was conducted from the southwest, with a heading of 57.0° at an altitude of 357 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway threshold.
The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 36 knots and a touchdown distance of 820 feet. The touchdown rate was perfect at -45 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was also perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 55°F and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 39°, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,203 feet, which is 24% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The total flight distance was 6 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 9 minutes. The aircraft used 3 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna 152 aircraft successfully landed at KBKL Burke Lakefront Airport, achieving a high score of 98.1%. The final approach was conducted from the southwest, heading 57.0° at 1 nautical mile and 357 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated excellent control and precision, ensuring a smooth and safe landing on runway 06R.
The runway length at KBKL Burke Lakefront Airport is 4,911 feet, providing ample space for the aircraft to touch down and come to a stop. The threshold height was good, and the pilot maintained a safe speed of 44 knots, which was well below the target threshold speed. This cautious approach was necessary to avoid stalling the aircraft, a critical consideration during landing.
The touchdown distance of 820 feet was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 36 knots was also satisfactory. The most impressive aspect of the landing was the touchdown rate, which was a perfect -45 feet per minute (fpm). This indicates that the pilot maintained excellent control and managed the aircraft's descent to touch down smoothly and safely.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 55°F and a wind speed of 12 knots at 39°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 11 knots. These conditions contributed to a relatively straightforward landing, with the pilot able to maintain a stable approach and touchdown.
The total landing distance of 1,203 feet was 24% of the runway length, which is a reasonable and safe distance. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability during the post-touchdown phase of the landing. Overall, the Cessna 152 aircraft landed safely and efficiently at KBKL Burke Lakefront Airport, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and judgment.
