MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,943 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 345 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 11 at VGSY Osmany International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 481 meters, which accounted for 16% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 118 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with no wind at 90 degrees. The aircraft climbed from 1,069 feet above sea level to 19,768 feet above sea level, an increase of 18,699 feet, in just 3 minutes and covering 12 nautical miles. This enroute climb started overhead VGSY Osmany International Airport in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which lasted for 16 minutes and covered 96 nautical miles. This cruise phase started 9 miles south of Sylhet. The aircraft then began its descent from 20,397 feet above sea level to 2,106 feet above sea level, a decrease of 18,291 feet, in 11 minutes and covering 63 nautical miles. The descent started 9 miles west of Belonia in Tripura, India.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 3 minutes and covered 6 nautical miles. This cruise phase started 10 miles west of VGEG Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The final approach to runway 05 at VGEG Shah Amanat International Airport was made from the southwest, with a heading of 48.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,241 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 05 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 343 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 85 knots, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -124 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.8 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21°C, with a wind of 8 knots at 26 degrees. The crosswind was 3 knots, and the headwind was 8 knots.
The total landing distance was 952 meters, which accounted for 32% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 12.9 meters from the centreline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took just 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 184 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 42 minutes. The aircraft used 516 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation aircraft successfully landed at VGEG Shah Amanat International Airport, achieving a score of 94.2%. The final approach to runway 05 was initiated from the southwest, with a heading of 48.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,241 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 96 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 343 meters was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 85 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate was smooth, with a descent rate of -124 feet per minute.
The landing was conducted in good weather conditions, with a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 8 knots from a direction of 26°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 8 knots. This favorable wind condition likely contributed to the smooth touchdown and rollout.
Although the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.8 meters from the centerline, the total landing distance of 952 meters was only 32% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 12.9 meters from the centerline, which may require further attention to ensure proper alignment during future landings.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down smoothly and coming to a stop within a relatively short distance. However, there is room for improvement in terms of maintaining proper alignment during the rollout phase.
