MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,803 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,803 m of the 3,026 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 474 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A321 then departed from runway 29 at Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,028 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 5°C temperature and winds of 14 knots at 330 degrees. The crosswind was 9 knots, while the headwind was 11 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Rebiechowo, where the aircraft ascended from 1,464 feet above sea level to 19,458 feet, an increase of 17,994 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 28 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 1 mile south west of Pelplin and lasting 13 minutes, during which it covered 89 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 3 miles south of Glinojeck, where the aircraft descended from 19,841 feet to 4,190 feet, a decrease of 15,651 feet in 11 minutes, covering 59 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 2 miles east of Gora Kalwaria and lasting 2 minutes, during which it covered 5 nautical miles.
The final descent started 1 mile south west of Tomice, where the aircraft descended from 3,882 feet to 1,659 feet, a decrease of 2,222 feet in 3 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 33 at Warsaw Chopin Airport from the south east, heading 332.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,295 feet above ground level.
However, the aircraft was forced to execute a go-around at 0 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 33, with a runway length of 3,026 meters. The threshold height was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 134 knots. The touchdown point was 55 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 126 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was fair at -200 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.1 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 6°C temperature and winds of 20 knots at 270 degrees. The crosswind was 17 knots, while the headwind was 9 knots. The total landing distance was 1,720 meters, accounting for 57% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 15.7 meters from the centreline.
The aircraft then taxiied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 205 nautical miles, taking 57 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,177 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at EPWA Warsaw Chopin Airport, with a score of 88.1%. The final approach to runway 33 was initiated from the south east, heading 332.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,295 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was made on a runway with a length of 3,026 meters.
Upon landing, the threshold height was found to be above the target at 67 feet agl, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 143 knots. However, the second landing attempt showed an improvement in threshold height at 69 feet agl, which was still above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 134 knots. The touchdown point was 55 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 126 knots was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -200 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C, with a wind speed of 20 knots at 270°. The crosswind component was 17 knots, while the headwind component was 9 knots. The total landing distance was 1,720 meters, which accounted for 57% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was found to be misaligned by 15.7 meters from the centerline.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with some minor deviations from the target parameters. The aircraft's performance was satisfactory, and the crew's skills were demonstrated in navigating the aircraft through the challenging weather conditions. However, there is room for improvement in terms of achieving the target threshold height and maintaining a more accurate runway rollout alignment.
