Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 300 ft gate: off the centreline and wings not level.
Side view — the last 909 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 909 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 265 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Neustadt-Glewe Airfield, the Kodiak 100 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. Upon reaching runway 17, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, accelerating down the 526-meter stretch of the runway, which comprised 66% of the total length. At a liftoff speed of 72 knots, the aircraft successfully took to the skies, rising above the local terrain.
As the aircraft climbed away from Neustadt-Glewe, it began its enroute climb, ascending from an initial altitude of 1,101 feet above sea level to 2,825 feet, a gain of 1,724 feet in just 2 minutes. This climb phase covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, maintaining an altitude of 2,825 feet as it traversed 70 nautical miles in 16 minutes. The aircraft then began its descent, reducing its altitude from 2,450 feet to 1,397 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. A brief level cruise phase followed, during which the aircraft flew at an altitude of 1,397 feet for 4 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, Flugplatz Stralsund, it initiated its final approach to runway 05, aligning itself with the runway from the southwest. The aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 60 knots, with a touchdown distance of 262 meters, which was 44% of the runway length. The touchdown rate was an impressive -70 feet per minute. However, the aircraft's runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned, deviating 24.4 meters from the centerline. Following a brief rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, completing its journey in 29 minutes and covering a total distance of 87 nautical miles. The flight utilized 105 kilograms of fuel, demonstrating the Kodiak 100's efficiency and performance capabilities.
The aircraft touched down on runway 05 at EDBV Flugplatz Stralsund, demonstrating a good threshold height and threshold speed of 68 kt. The touchdown distance of 262 m was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 60 kt was also satisfactory. Notably, the touchdown rate of -70 fpm was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, the aircraft's alignment during the approach and rollout phases was not ideal. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 24.4 m from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment also deviated from the centreline by the same margin. This misalignment may have been due to factors such as crosswind or pilot error. The crosswind component of 6 kt and headwind of 2 kt were relatively minor, suggesting that wind conditions were not a major contributing factor to the misalignment.
Despite the misalignment, the overall landing performance was satisfactory, with a total landing distance of 398 m, which accounted for 44% of the runway length. The score of 83.9% reflects a good overall performance, but with room for improvement in terms of approach and rollout alignment. The landing was conducted in good weather conditions, with a temperature of 8 °C and a light wind of 6 kt at 118 °.
