MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,587 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 475 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-MAX8, then departed from runway 07 at EGGW London Luton Airport. The takeoff distance was 831 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 24 knots at a direction of 90°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 23 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile east of the airport, rising from an altitude of 1,447 feet above sea level to 3,902 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,454 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile west of Knebworth, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 3,915 feet above sea level to 4,895 feet above sea level, an increase of 980 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The level cruise continued overhead Aldbury, lasting 2 minutes and covering 7 nautical miles.
The next significant climb took place overhead Ellesborough, where the aircraft rose from 4,883 feet above sea level to 34,088 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,205 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 61 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started 3 miles south east of Bognor Regis, lasting 76 minutes and covering 505 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent overhead Egat, France, descending from 33,651 feet above sea level to 5,238 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,413 feet in 31 minutes, covering a distance of 154 nautical miles. The level cruise continued for a short period, starting 8 miles north of Port de Pollenca, Spain, lasting 5 minutes and covering 19 nautical miles.
The final descent started 1 mile north west of Santa Margalida, Spain, where the aircraft descended from 4,470 feet above sea level to 1,270 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,200 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 24L at LEPA Palma de Mallorca Airport, flying from the north east at a heading of 239.0°, at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,245 feet above ground level.
The landing was successful, with a touchdown point 49 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 120 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was -158 feet per minute, also good. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, despite the local weather conditions, which included a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 22 knots at a direction of 219°.
The total landing distance was 1,073 meters, which is 41% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.8 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 786 nautical miles, taking a total of 147 minutes, and the aircraft used 4,467 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft successfully landed at LEPA Palma de Mallorca Airport, achieving a high score of 96.7%. The final approach to runway 24L was conducted from the north east, with a heading of 239.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,245 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 129 knots. The touchdown point was located 49 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 120 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -158 feet per minute (fpm) was also good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 22 knots from a direction of 219°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 21 knots, which the aircraft successfully managed during the landing. The total landing distance of 1,073 meters was 41% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
However, there was a slight misalignment of the runway rollout alignment, with the aircraft deviating from the centerline by 10.8 meters. Despite this minor issue, the overall performance of the aircraft during the landing was impressive, and the crew's skills and experience were evident in their ability to navigate the challenging weather conditions and achieve a high score.
