MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,962 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 320 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport, taking 7 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 08, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,292 meters, which was 45% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 145 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were a temperature of -6°C, with a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 200°.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb 1 mile north of Mierzecice, Poland, at an altitude of 2,008 feet above sea level. The climb continued for 17 minutes, covering a distance of 75 nautical miles, and resulted in an increase of 30,567 feet in altitude, reaching a maximum altitude of 32,575 feet above sea level.
The enroute level cruise started 3 miles northeast of Debowiec, Poland, and lasted for 36 minutes, covering a distance of 241 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 1 mile southwest of Ausleben, Germany, and descended from an altitude of 32,580 feet above sea level to 1,453 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,128 feet in altitude, in 28 minutes, covering a distance of 121 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at Münster Osnabrück Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 251.0° at an altitude of 1,284 feet above ground level, 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on runway 25, which had a length of 1,962 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed at 138 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 321 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 130 knots, and the touchdown rate was hard at -460 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.9 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of -1°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 230°, resulting in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,325 meters, which was 68% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 11 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 446 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 93 minutes, with the aircraft using 3,858 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at EDDG Münster Osnabrück Airport, achieving a score of 97.2%. The final approach to runway 25 was initiated from the east, with a heading of 251.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,284 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 130 kt, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown distance of 321 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -460 feet per minute (fpm) was deemed hard, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slight jolt upon touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.9 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -1°C, with a wind speed of 6 kt from 230°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 kt, while the headwind component was 5 kt, which may have contributed to the slight misalignment.
The total landing distance of 1,325 meters was 68% of the available runway length, indicating that the aircraft had sufficient room to stop safely. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score of 97.2%. However, there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, as well as the runway touchdown position, which may be addressed in future training or operations.
