Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,837 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,837 m of the 3,680 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 546 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 03L at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. The takeoff distance was 1,434 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 168 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 309°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of the airport and ascending from an altitude of 6,590 feet above sea level to 35,476 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,886 feet in 15 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 102 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 14 miles south of Modimolle Airport in South Africa and lasted for 65 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 542 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 35,357 feet above sea level to 37,135 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,779 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. This climb started 1 mile southwest of Lusaka International Airport in Zambia.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 9 miles east of Karubwe Airport in Zambia and lasted for 105 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 827 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 24 miles west of Ihanda Airstrip in Tanzania and descending from 37,193 feet above sea level to 5,062 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,130 feet in 27 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 142 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 17 at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 172.0° at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,287 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 17, which had a length of 3,680 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 146 knots.
The touchdown point was 141 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 142 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -212 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 184°. This resulted in a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,767 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,635 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 228 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 26,883 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at HUEN Entebbe International Airport, achieving a score of 98.8%. The final approach to runway 17 was initiated from the north, with a heading of 172.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,287 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a steady course, taking advantage of the favorable wind conditions, with a headwind of 2 knots and a negligible crosswind.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed within the designated touchdown zone, albeit 141 meters beyond the ideal point. The threshold speed was satisfactory at 146 knots, indicating a well-executed approach. However, the touchdown speed of 142 knots was slightly above the optimal range, which may have contributed to a slightly higher touchdown rate of -212 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control.
The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 17°C and a gentle wind of 2 knots from 184°. The aircraft's performance was not significantly impacted by the wind, allowing for a smooth and controlled descent. The total landing distance of 1,767 meters was 48% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, showcasing the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the critical phase of the landing.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft demonstrating a high level of proficiency and control. The minor deviations from optimal performance, such as the slightly fast touchdown speed, did not compromise the safety of the operation. The pilot's skill and experience were evident throughout the approach and landing, resulting in a score of 98.8%.
