Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,667 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 276 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna C172, then departed from runway 12 at ESSB Stockholm-Bromma Airport. The takeoff distance was 374 meters, which accounted for 22% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 60 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 16 °C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 44°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead Bromma in Stockholm County, Sweden. The climb took place from an altitude of 691 feet above sea level to 996 feet above sea level, an increase of 305 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began overhead Solna in Stockholm County, Sweden, and lasted for 14 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 12 at ESSB Stockholm-Bromma Airport was made from the northwest, with the aircraft heading 125.0° at an altitude of 225 feet above ground level and a distance of 0 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was executed with a threshold speed that was slightly below the target speed of 60 knots, at 59 knots. The touchdown distance was 274 meters, which was considered good, and the touchdown speed was 48 knots, also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate was smooth, at -143 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at takeoff, with a temperature of 15 °C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 44°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, and the headwind component was 1 knot. The total landing distance was 510 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took approximately 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 6 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 23 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 6 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully landed at ESSB Stockholm-Bromma Airport, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in its pilot. The final approach to runway 12 was executed from the north-west, with the aircraft heading 125.0° at 0 nm and 225 ft above ground level (agl). This indicates a precise and controlled descent, setting the stage for a smooth landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a threshold speed that was slightly below the target at 59 knots. This is a minor deviation, but it did not compromise the overall quality of the landing. The touchdown distance of 274 meters was also within acceptable limits, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's speed and descent rate.
The touchdown speed of 48 knots was good, indicating that the pilot had successfully slowed the aircraft down to a safe speed for landing. The touchdown rate of -143 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, suggesting that the pilot had maintained a steady and controlled descent throughout the final approach.
One of the key aspects of this landing was the runway touchdown alignment, which was perfect. This indicates that the pilot had accurately aligned the aircraft with the runway centerline, reducing the risk of a sideslip or other issues that could compromise the safety of the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 44°. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot, which the pilot successfully managed during the landing.
The total landing distance of 510 meters was 31% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had successfully controlled the aircraft's speed and descent rate to minimize the distance required for the landing. Finally, the runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft throughout the landing and rollout phases.
Overall, this landing demonstrates a high level of proficiency in the pilot, with a score of 98.3%. The pilot's ability to control the aircraft's speed, descent rate, and alignment with the runway centerline resulted in a smooth and safe landing.
