Arrival
Add power on short final to hold 86 kt at the threshold rather than letting speed decay.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 75 kt against a target of 86 kt, below reference speed.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator, hold 86 kt down to the threshold.
See Arrival Landing
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 169 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star taxied to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde and commenced the departure roll. The aircraft accelerated over a takeoff distance of 630 m, representing 25 % of the runway, and achieved liftoff at 86 kt. Ambient conditions were 16 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 270°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and a head-wind component of 2 kt.
A left-hand pattern entry was flown from runway 23, covering a distance of less than 1 nm in 24 seconds.
The subsequent left-hand pattern crosswind leg also measured less than 1 nm and was completed in 16 seconds.
During the pattern downwind turn the aircraft described a 1 nm arc, reaching an angle to the runway of 89.0° (45° reference).
The downwind leg extended 1 nm and was flown in 44 seconds.
The base-leg turn was a 1 nm maneuver with an angle to the runway of 61.6° (45° reference).
The base leg itself was less than 1 nm in length and was completed in 23 seconds.
The final turn to the runway was again less than 1 nm and required 28 seconds to execute.
Landing was made on runway 23, whose length is 2,490 m. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 75 kt. Touchdown occurred 168 m from the threshold at 67 kt with a firm rate of -336 fpm, and runway alignment was perfect. Weather at the time remained 16 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 269°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and a head-wind component of 2 kt.
Overall, the flight covered a total distance of 6 nm, took 4 (units as given), and consumed 3 kg of fuel.
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star approached runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde in temperature 16 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 269°; the cross-wind component was 1 kt and the head-wind component 2 kt. At the threshold the aircraft’s speed was a little below target at 75 kt.
The aircraft crossed the threshold at a good height, touched down 168 m down the runway and was aligned perfectly with the centreline. Touchdown speed was 67 kt, which was judged good.
The touchdown was firm, with a vertical rate of -336 fpm.
To bring the overall score closer to the optimum, the crew should aim to achieve the target threshold speed rather than the slightly low 75 kt, and adjust the flare to moderate the -336 fpm touchdown rate.
