MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,107 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 331 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 21 at SPHY Andahuaylas Airport. The Boeing 737-600 took off with a takeoff distance of 1,661 meters, which was 67% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 131 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 230 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 2 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 2 miles southwest of SPHY Andahuaylas Airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 12,694 feet above sea level to 38,051 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,357 feet in 26 minutes. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 191 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 41 miles south of SPOY Atico Airport and lasted for 128 minutes, covering a distance of 1,130 nautical miles.
The enroute descent began 15 miles west of SCKE Piedra Negra Airport and took the aircraft from an altitude of 38,035 feet above sea level to 1,322 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,713 feet in 26 minutes. The descent covered a distance of 222 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 17 at SCVD Pichoy Airport was made from the north, heading 178.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,253 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 17 at SCVD Pichoy Airport was successful, with a touchdown distance of 332 meters, which was 37% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 115 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -274 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 0 degrees. This resulted in a tailwind of 2 knots.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway in 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,549 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 186 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 8,993 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-600 aircraft successfully landed at SCVD Pichoy Airport, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in its approach and landing procedures. The final approach was conducted from the north, heading 178.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,253 feet above ground level (agl). This positioning allowed the aircraft to make a precise approach to runway 17, which is 2,107 meters in length.
The landing was executed with a high degree of accuracy, with a threshold height that was considered good. The threshold speed of 124 knots was also within the acceptable range, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing. The touchdown distance of 332 meters was also good, and the touchdown speed of 115 knots was within the desired parameters.
However, the touchdown rate of -274 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slight bounce or oscillation upon touchdown. This could be due to a variety of factors, including the aircraft's weight, the runway's surface, or the pilot's control inputs.
Despite this minor issue, the overall performance of the aircraft was impressive. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions were also favorable, with a temperature of 20°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 0°. This minimal wind made the landing even more challenging, as the pilots had to contend with a slight tailwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance of 788 meters was 37% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilots were able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently, with a perfect runway rollout alignment. Overall, this landing was a testament to the skills and expertise of the pilots, as well as the capabilities of the Boeing 737-600 aircraft.
