MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,693 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 384 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Split Airport, Croatia, the Airbus A321 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. With a local temperature of 11 °C and a gentle headwind of 4 kt, the aircraft took off from runway 05, utilizing 76% of the available 1,812 meters of runway. The liftoff speed was achieved at 142 kt, marking the start of the aircraft's ascent.
As the aircraft climbed to its initial cruising altitude, it passed overhead Kastel Stafilic, Croatia, and continued to ascend to 38,009 feet above sea level, a gain of 36,915 feet in 24 minutes. The enroute climb phase was followed by a level cruise, which lasted 25 minutes and covered 190 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, initially from 38,034 feet to 22,009 feet in 9 minutes, covering 65 nautical miles. The aircraft continued to descend, with multiple level cruise phases, before finally beginning its final approach to runway 10 at Nuremberg Airport, Germany. The landing was executed with a threshold speed slightly above target at 138 kt, and a touchdown distance of 385 meters, which was within acceptable limits.
The total flight distance was 475 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 80 minutes and a fuel consumption of 3,899 kilograms. The aircraft performed well throughout the flight, with a perfect runway touchdown alignment and a very good runway rollout alignment. The local temperature at Nuremberg Airport was 3 °C, with a gentle headwind of 2 kt, contributing to a smooth and controlled landing. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The aircraft touched down on runway 10 at EDDN Nuremberg Airport with a firm touchdown rate of -352 fpm, slightly above the target rate. The touchdown speed of 131 kt was a little fast, but the aircraft maintained good control throughout the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway centerline.
The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed that was slightly above the target at 138 kt. The touchdown distance of 385 m was within the acceptable range, and the total landing distance of 1,430 m was 53% of the runway length, indicating a good balance between touchdown distance and rollout distance. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 3 °C and a headwind of 2 kt, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The rollout phase was characterized by very good alignment, with the aircraft remaining centered on the runway centerline. The overall landing performance was impressive, with a score of 98.3%. The slight deviations from the target touchdown speed and threshold speed were minor and did not affect the overall quality of the landing.
