Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,138 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 117 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a quick taxiing process from the parking area to the runway, taking less than a minute and covering a distance of less than a nautical mile. The aircraft, an RJ85, then departed from runway 09 at London City Airport (EGLC), taking off with a takeoff distance of 908 meters, which was 68% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 130 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of London City Airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 14°C temperature and winds of 9 knots at 30°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile northwest of Abbey Wood, Greater London, England, and reached an altitude of 28,598 feet above sea level (asl) after climbing 27,569 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 74 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 9 miles northwest of Grand-Fort-Philippe, Hauts-de-France, France, and lasted for 44 minutes, covering a distance of 300 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 1 mile southwest of Wildberg, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, and descended from 28,885 feet asl to 5,083 feet asl, a decrease of 23,802 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 59 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise was restarted 1 mile northeast of Dettighofen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The final enroute descent began 2 miles southeast of Lauchringen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, and descended from 3,935 feet asl to 2,698 feet asl, a decrease of 1,237 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 14 at Zürich Airport (LSZH) from the northwest, heading 137.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,286 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was successful, with a threshold speed of 108 knots, which was slightly below the target speed. The touchdown distance was good at 117 meters, and the touchdown speed was 106 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was excellent at -65 feet per minute (fpm), and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at Zürich Airport were 14°C temperature and winds of 4 knots at 70°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. The total landing distance was 746 meters, which was 24% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
After landing, the aircraft took 3 minutes to taxi to the parking area from the runway, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 453 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 96 minutes. The aircraft used 3,318 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, an RJ85, successfully landed at Zürich Airport (LSZH) on runway 14. The final approach was initiated from the north-west, heading 137.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,286 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated excellent control and precision throughout the approach, ultimately touching down on the runway with a speed of 106 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed of 108 knots.
The touchdown distance of 117 meters was considered good, indicating that the aircraft had sufficient control and stability to maintain a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -65 feet per minute (fpm) was also excellent, signifying a gentle and controlled touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 14°C and a relatively light wind of 4 knots at 70°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth and controlled nature of the landing.
The total landing distance of 746 meters was only 24% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft had sufficient control and stability to maintain a short and controlled rollout. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, suggesting that the aircraft remained properly aligned with the runway centerline throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered a success, with the aircraft demonstrating excellent control and precision throughout the approach and rollout phases.
