Reduce your height at the threshold
Even a modest height error carries straight through to the touchdown. Geometry alone says that crossing the threshold 10 feet high on a 3° path moves your touchdown roughly 190 feet further down the runway before the flare adds anything.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,752 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 669 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at ESCK Bråvalla Air Base took approximately 6 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its departure roll on runway 06, utilizing 22% of the 1,752-meter runway to achieve liftoff at a speed of 63 knots. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 0 knots at 32°.
As the aircraft cleared the airfield, it initiated an enroute climb, ascending from an initial altitude of 447 feet above sea level to 1,013 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The climb was characterized by a significant increase in altitude, with a gain of 567 feet. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, maintaining a steady altitude 1 mile west of Norrköping, Sweden. This phase lasted for 14 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 21 nautical miles.
Upon approaching the airfield, the aircraft began its descent and landing on runway 06. The touchdown point was located 267 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 48 knots and a rate of -242 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also satisfactory. The total landing distance was 934 meters, accounting for 53% of the runway length. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 2 minutes to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 25 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 24 minutes and a fuel consumption of 6 kilograms.
The approach to runway 06 at ESCK Bråvalla Air Base was initiated with a slight deviation from the target threshold height of 124 ft agl, resulting in an excessively high approach. However, the pilot maintained a good threshold speed of 58 kt, indicating a well-executed approach configuration. The aircraft's descent was controlled, and the touchdown speed of 48 kt was within the acceptable range, demonstrating a good understanding of the aircraft's performance characteristics.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's touchdown rate of -242 fpm was slightly above the optimal range, but still considered fair. The touchdown point was located 267 m beyond the touchdown zone, which, although not ideal, did not compromise the overall safety of the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating a high degree of skill and control during the final stages of the approach. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15 °C and a light headwind of 1 kt, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The rollout phase was executed smoothly, with the aircraft maintaining perfect alignment with the centreline. The total landing distance of 934 m, which accounted for 53% of the runway length, was within the acceptable range. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, with a score of 80.6%. While there were some minor deviations from the optimal approach and touchdown characteristics, the pilot demonstrated a good understanding of the aircraft's performance and the ability to execute a safe and controlled landing.
