Work on the flare
See Arrival Landing
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: speed below the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,857 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,857 m of the 3,194 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 790 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 30 at LFOB Paris-Beauvais Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,522 meters, which accounted for 64% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 153 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 7°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 190°. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the tailwind was 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Tille in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The climb took 6 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,367 feet above sea level to 17,464 feet, an increase of 16,097 feet.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, starting 1 mile west of Ecos in the Normandie region of France. This phase lasted for 3 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began another climb phase, starting 1 mile northwest of Bus-Saint-Remy in the Normandie region. This climb took 14 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 18,340 feet to 34,736 feet, an increase of 16,396 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 2 miles north of Averton in the Pays de la Loire region of France. This phase lasted for 58 minutes and covered a distance of 446 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb phase, starting 2 miles north of Castrocontrigo in the Castilla y Leon region of Spain. This climb took 3 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 34,916 feet to 36,998 feet, an increase of 2,082 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 4 miles northeast of Milhao in the Distrito de Braganca region of Portugal. This phase lasted for 120 minutes and covered a distance of 888 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent phase, starting 55 miles north of Tegueste in the Canary Islands region of Spain. The descent took 23 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 37,000 feet to 1,515 feet, a decrease of 35,485 feet.
The final approach to runway 07 at GCTS Tenerife Sur Airport was made from the southwest, with a heading of 68.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,297 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown point 374 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was good, while the touchdown rate was fair at -206 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.3 meters from the centerline.
The total landing distance was 1,775 meters, which accounted for 56% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,564 nautical miles, which was completed in 237 minutes. The aircraft used 8,422 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, identified as B38M, successfully landed at GCTS Tenerife Sur Airport, achieving a score of 92.5%. The final approach to runway 07 was conducted from the south-west, with a heading of 68.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,297 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold speed of 144 knots being considered good. The touchdown point was located 374 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly beyond the expected area. The touchdown speed of 133 knots was also deemed good, indicating a controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -206 feet per minute was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have maintained a more stable rate of descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.3 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 350°. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 1 knot, which may have contributed to the slight misalignment.
The total landing distance of 1,775 meters was 56% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain control and stability during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score despite some minor issues with touchdown rate and runway alignment.
