MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 4,001 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 559 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 07R at Hong Kong International Airport (VHHH). The takeoff distance was 1,738 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 184 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and winds of 8 knots at 90 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the headwind was 7 knots. After departing from Hong Kong, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of Tung Chung. The climb took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 144 nautical miles, with the aircraft rising from 1,055 feet above sea level to 38,491 feet.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 63 miles north of Pratas Island. This phase lasted for 117 minutes and covered a distance of 1,092 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 18 miles southeast of Sukumo, Japan. The descent took 30 minutes and covered a distance of 163 nautical miles, with the aircraft decreasing from 36,558 feet to 1,301 feet above sea level.
As the aircraft approached its destination, Kansai International Airport (RJBB), it began its final approach to runway 24R from the northeast. The aircraft was heading 231.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,273 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 24R, which had a length of 4,001 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 145 knots.
However, the touchdown point was 140 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 136 knots. The touchdown rate was good at -165 feet per minute. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius and winds of 21 knots at 280 degrees. The crosswind was 16 knots, while the headwind was 14 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,318 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 10.0 meters from the centerline. After landing, the aircraft took 8 minutes to taxi to the parking, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,409 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 187 minutes. The aircraft used 21,918 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at RJBB Kansai International Airport, achieving a score of 95.3%. The final approach to runway 24R was initiated from the north east, heading 231.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,273 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold height that was considered good. The threshold speed was also satisfactory at 145 knots. However, the touchdown point was located 140 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 136 knots was slightly faster than the desired speed, but the touchdown rate of -165 feet per minute was considered good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 4°C, with a wind speed of 21 knots from a direction of 280°. This resulted in a crosswind of 16 knots and a headwind of 14 knots. The runway length at RJBB Kansai International Airport is 4,001 meters, which provided a sufficient margin for the aircraft to land safely.
The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 1,318 meters, which accounted for approximately 33% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to land within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.0 meters from the centerline, suggesting that the aircraft may have deviated from the intended path during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score of 95.3%. However, there were some minor deviations from the desired landing parameters, including a slightly fast touchdown speed and a misaligned runway rollout alignment.
