MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,982 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,982 m of the 3,195 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 675 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 07 at GCTS Tenerife Sur Airport, located in the Canary Islands, Spain. The takeoff distance was 1,436 meters, which is 45% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 196 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 26°C, with a wind speed of 16 knots at 80°.
As the aircraft climbed out of Tenerife Sur Airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and continued for 17 minutes, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles. The aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,222 feet above sea level to 32,645 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,423 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 10 miles west of La Restinga, a town in the Canary Islands, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 38 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 32,620 feet above sea level to 34,165 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,544 feet, in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then began again, this time lasting for 216 minutes, covering a distance of 1,789 nautical miles. The aircraft continued to climb, this time from 35,406 feet above sea level to 37,132 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,726 feet, in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then began once more, lasting for 171 minutes, covering a distance of 416 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent, which started 80 miles north of French Guiana and continued for 22 minutes, covering a distance of 110 nautical miles. The aircraft descended from 37,503 feet above sea level to 1,300 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,203 feet.
The final approach to runway 08 at SOCA Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport was made from the south west, heading 65.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,268 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with the touchdown point being 261 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 149 knots, but the touchdown rate was good at -182 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good.
The total landing distance was 1,903 meters, which is 60% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 29°C, with a wind speed of 15 knots at 50°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 14 knots. The total flight distance was 2,485 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 329 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 44,611 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at SOCA Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport, achieving a score of 95.7%. The final approach to runway 08 was conducted from the southwest, heading 65.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,268 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being satisfactory. However, the threshold speed was significantly above the target speed, reaching 160 knots. This indicates that the aircraft was descending at a faster rate than intended, which may have been due to the pilots' decision to prioritize a safe touchdown over a precise approach speed.
The touchdown point was located 261 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 149 knots was slightly faster than the target speed, but the touchdown rate of -182 feet per minute was within acceptable limits. This suggests that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of touchdown without excessive deceleration.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 29°C and a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 50°. The crosswind component was relatively minor at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 14 knots. These conditions would have presented a moderate challenge to the pilots, but they were able to manage the aircraft safely.
The total landing distance of 1,903 meters was 60% of the available runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilots were able to maintain control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilots demonstrated good control and decision-making skills in managing the aircraft through the approach and touchdown phases. However, there is room for improvement in terms of achieving a more precise approach speed and touchdown point.
