Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,043 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 251 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Munich Airport, taking approximately 6 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 08R, with a takeoff distance of 1,465 meters, which was 37% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 170 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 4°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 359°.
As the aircraft climbed out of Munich Airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile south east of the airport. The climb took 12 minutes to reach a height of 33,609 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,123 feet from the initial altitude of 2,486 feet. During this phase, the aircraft covered a distance of 143 nautical miles.
After completing the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile north west of Porcia, Italy. This phase lasted for 14 minutes and covered a distance of 226 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started overhead Cugnoli, Italy. The descent took 26 minutes to reach a height of 1,652 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,145 feet from the initial altitude of 33,797 feet. During this phase, the aircraft covered a distance of 84 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 24 at Naples International Airport was made from the north east, with a heading of 238.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,346 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 24, which had a length of 2,043 meters. The threshold height at 58 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 135 knots. The touchdown distance was also good at 254 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 131 knots, resulting in a heavy touchdown rate of -610 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, but the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.3 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 14°C and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 199°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, and the headwind component was 10 knots. The total landing distance was 1,043 meters, which was 51% of the runway length. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 1 minute to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 461 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 60 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 228 kilograms.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at LIRN Naples International Airport, with a score of 91.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 238.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,346 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 24, which has a length of 2,043 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 131 knots, which was slightly faster than the target speed. The touchdown distance was 254 meters, which was within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown rate was heavy at -610 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a steeper descent than desired.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 14°C, with a wind speed of 12 knots from 199°. This resulted in a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 10 knots. Despite these conditions, the aircraft maintained a perfect runway touchdown alignment.
The total landing distance was 1,043 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.3 meters from the centerline. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with some minor deviations from the target parameters.
