Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: centreline 5.2° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,395 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,756 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 36R at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in 15 minutes, covering 7 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 36R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 98 kt and became airborne after a takeoff distance of 2,249 ft, representing 17 % of the runway; ambient temperature was 82 °F with a wind of 8 kt from 080°, providing a 1 kt headwind and an 8 kt crosswind.
Climb commenced overhead KDFW, rising from 1,600 ft asl to 29,008 ft asl, an increase of 27,409 ft achieved in 21 minutes while covering 74 nm.
The first cruise segment began over 5TS3 Knapp Pecan Orchard Airpark, lasting 8 minutes and spanning 41 nm.
Descent started 3 mi north-east of 1TE9 Rmr Ranch Airport, descending from 28,622 ft asl to 9,003 ft asl, a loss of 19,619 ft in 5 minutes and covering 21 nm.
A second cruise phase over 6TS6 Wood Crest Ranch Airport lasted 8 minutes and extended 38 nm.
The next descent began 6 mi west of TT75 Berkley Ranch Airport, dropping from 8,993 ft asl to 888 ft asl, a decrease of 8,105 ft over 13 minutes while traveling 50 nm.
A brief cruise over TS07 Dry Creek Airport lasted 4 minutes and covered 11 nm.
Final approach to runway 08R at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport involved a descent from 1,248 ft agl to 42 ft agl in 131 seconds, with the aircraft scoring on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 08R was executed with a threshold height of 73 ft agl and a threshold speed of 100 kt, both above target; touchdown occurred 343 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 83 kt, with a smooth rate of -143 fpm and perfect runway-touchdown alignment; local weather reported a temperature of 82 °F, wind 5 kt from 200°, a 5 kt crosswind and a 2 kt tailwind.
Runway rollout alignment remained perfect, and the total landing distance measured 3,758 ft, representing 40 % of the runway length.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 4 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 249 nm, required 75 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 522 lb of fuel.
The final approach to runway 08R at KIAH was assessed as unstable at the 1,000 ft gate, with the aircraft off the centreline. Descent proceeded from 1,248 ft agl to 42 ft agl in 131 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the height of 73 ft agl was well above target and the threshold speed of 100 kt was also well above target, indicating a higher-than-desired energy state on flare.
Touchdown occurred 343 ft beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 83 kt, described as fast, while the vertical rate was smooth at minus 143 fpm and runway alignment was perfect.
Rollout used 3,758 ft, representing 40 % of the 9,395-ft runway, and alignment remained perfect throughout the rollout.
Reduce the threshold height and speed to bring the aircraft closer to target values, and adjust flare timing to achieve a touchdown point within the designated zone, which will further improve the already strong score of 94.3 %.
