MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,360 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 567 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 23 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, a TBM 850, then departed from runway 19L at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The takeoff distance was 548 meters, which accounted for 19% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 99 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 210 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 2 miles northwest of Jessheim, Norway. The climb took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 29 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,631 feet above sea level to 10,054 feet above sea level, an increase of 8,423 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 6 miles southwest of Valer, Norway. This phase lasted for 18 minutes and covered a distance of 140 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 20 miles north of ENRO Røros Airport, Røros, Norway. The descent took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 32 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 9,902 feet above sea level to 1,533 feet above sea level, a decrease of 8,368 feet.
The final approach to runway 27 at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes was made from the east, with a heading of 270.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,478 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 27, which had a length of 2,360 meters. The threshold height was well above the target, and the threshold speed was too high at 81 knots. The touchdown point was 133 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 75 knots, which was fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -225 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.5 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 60 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 6 knots. The total landing distance was 780 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 212 nautical miles, and the flight took 47 minutes, using 6 kilograms of fuel.
The TBM 850 aircraft successfully landed at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes, with a score of 86.3%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,478 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was approaching runway 27, which has a length of 2,360 meters.
Upon landing, the threshold height was found to be well above the target, indicating that the aircraft was higher than expected when reaching the runway threshold. Additionally, the threshold speed was too high at 81 knots, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to reduce the speed further before touchdown. The touchdown point was 133 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively significant deviation from the intended landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 75 knots was faster than desired, and the touchdown rate of -225 feet per minute was only fair. This indicates that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly harder-than-ideal touchdown. Furthermore, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.5 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's alignment during the approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 60°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the tailwind component was 6 knots. These conditions were generally favorable for landing.
The total landing distance was 780 meters, which is 33% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop quickly after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, while there were some minor issues with the landing, the TBM 850 aircraft was able to land safely and efficiently at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes.
