MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,587 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,587 m of the 2,127 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 535 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Cessna CJ4 Citation began with a taxi from the parking area to the runway at VIJO Jodhpur Airport, covering 3 nm in 13 minutes. The departure from runway 05 involved a takeoff distance of 391 m, with a liftoff speed of 115 kn. The local weather at the time indicated a temperature of 24°C with a 6 kn wind at 34°, resulting in a 1 kn crosswind and a 6 kn headwind during takeoff.
The climb to various altitudes during the departure phase was completed smoothly, with the enroute climb lasting 4 minutes and covering 9 nm, increasing from 1,829 ft asl to 7,104 ft asl. The level cruise lasted 16 minutes and covered 71 nm, beginning 9 miles east of VIJO Jodhpur Airport. The subsequent descent started 6 miles east of Sadri, decreasing from 7,026 ft asl to 4,550 ft asl in 4 minutes and covering 20 nm.
During the approach to VAUD Maharana Pratap Airport, the final approach from the west at 2 nm and 625 ft agl transitioned into a smooth landing on runway 08. The touchdown point was slightly beyond the touchdown zone, with a good touchdown speed of 79 kn and an excellent touchdown rate of -52 ft/m. The landing distance was 1,484 m, accounting for 70% of the runway length. The post-landing taxi to the parking area took 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight in the Cessna CJ4 Citation covered a total distance of 124 nm, lasting 39 minutes and using 294 kg of fuel. The flight demonstrated consistent and precise performance during all phases, from taxiing to landing.
Congratulations on achieving an impressive aircraft landing score of 97.4%! Let's break down the individual components of your landing to see where you excelled and where there may be room for improvement.
During the Approach Phase, you demonstrated excellent glideslope alignment, which is crucial for a smooth touchdown. However, your threshold speed was slightly below target at 92 knots. While this did not have a significant impact on your overall score, focusing on maintaining the target speed in future landings can further improve the precision of your approach.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, your performance was commendable. You had a good threshold height, ensuring a proper descent onto the runway. Additionally, your landing flare was very good, indicating a smooth transition from descent to touchdown.
In the Touchdown Phase, you excelled with an impressive touchdown rate of -52 feet per minute. This gentle touchdown minimizes stress on the aircraft and passengers, showcasing your skill in landing control. Your touchdown speed of 79 knots was also good, further contributing to a safe and smooth landing experience.
One area for consideration is the touchdown point, as you landed 97 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone. While this may not have posed a safety risk in this instance, aiming to touchdown within the specified zone in future landings can enhance overall landing accuracy.
Overall, your runway touchdown alignment was deemed very good, indicating a precise landing within the designated landing area. Your strong performance in multiple key aspects of the landing process contributed to your high score and reflects your proficiency as a pilot.
Keep up the excellent work and continue to hone your skills to achieve even greater precision and consistency in your aircraft landings. Your dedication to improvement and attention to detail will undoubtedly lead to continued success in your aviation endeavors. Well done on your impressive landing score!
