Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,027 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,027 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 163 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a PC-12, then departed from runway 26R at KSDM Brown Field Municipal Airport in San Diego, California. The takeoff distance was 653 meters, which accounted for 27% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 95 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 9 knots at 269 degrees. The crosswind was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind was 9 knots. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb began, which started overhead KSDM Brown Field Municipal Airport. The aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,281 feet above sea level to 22,242 feet, an increase of 20,961 feet, in 11 minutes and covering a distance of 29 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 8 miles west of La Jolla, California, and lasted for 213 minutes, covering a distance of 902 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started overhead Tukwila, Washington. The descent from 21,928 feet above sea level to 1,461 feet took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 67 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34 at KFHR Friday Harbor Airport was made from the south, heading 357.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,320 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 34 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 161 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 87 knots, while the touchdown speed was a little fast at 82 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -275 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 5 knots at 30 degrees. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 5 knots. The total landing distance was 320 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The total flight distance was 1,006 nautical miles, taking a total of 254 minutes, and the aircraft used 837 kilograms of fuel.
The PC-12 aircraft successfully landed at KFHR Friday Harbor Airport, achieving a score of 99.3%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 357.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,320 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 34, which has a length of 1,027 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway threshold. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 87 kt, suggesting that the pilot may have been slightly aggressive in their approach. Despite this, the touchdown distance was good at 161 meters, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft during the landing.
The touchdown speed of 82 kt was a little fast, which may have contributed to a fair touchdown rate of -275 fpm. A faster touchdown speed can result in a higher rate of descent, which can be challenging for the pilot to control. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot had excellent control over the aircraft during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 14°C and a wind speed of 5 kt from 30°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 kt, while the headwind component was 5 kt, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance was 320 meters, which is 31% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft during the landing.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot had excellent control over the aircraft during the rollout phase of the landing. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated excellent skills and control over the aircraft.
