Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 305 m and 152 m above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,763 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,763 m of the 3,037 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 541 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at ESSA Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, a process that took 6 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 01L, with a takeoff distance of 1,530 meters, which is 47% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 168 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 6°C temperature and a wind speed of 2 knots at 327 degrees. The crosswind and headwind were both 2 knots. After departing from Stockholm, the enroute climb started 1 mile north of the airport, with the aircraft climbing from 336 meters above sea level to 10,948 meters above sea level, an increase of 10,612 meters in 18 minutes, covering 105 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 2 miles northwest of Atvidaberg, Sweden, and lasted for 50 minutes, covering 367 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 1 mile west of Lagendorf, Germany, descending from 10,919 meters above sea level to 10,665 meters above sea level, a decrease of 254 meters in 2 minutes, covering 13 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 1 mile southeast of Schoneworde, Germany, and lasted for 12 minutes, covering 97 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent overhead Cornberg, Germany, descending from 10,663 meters above sea level to 764 meters above sea level, a decrease of 9,899 meters in 24 minutes, covering 141 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at EDDS Stuttgart Airport was made from the east, heading 254 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 388.2 meters above ground level. The landing was made on runway 25, which is 3,037 meters long. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 144 knots.
The touchdown point was 124 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 139 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was excellent at -0.5 meters per second. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 10°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 279 degrees, with a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,682 meters, which is 55% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, a process that took 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 731 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 119 minutes. The aircraft used 4,663 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at EDDS Stuttgart Airport, achieving a score of 97.6%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the east, heading 254.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 388.2 meters above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 25, which has a length of 3,037 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down slightly beyond the touchdown zone, 124 meters past the designated area. The touchdown speed of 139 knots was slightly above the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have been able to make adjustments to reduce the speed before touchdown. However, the touchdown rate of -0.5 meters per second was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 10°C and a gentle wind of 4 knots from 279°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots, which helped to reduce the aircraft's ground speed and make the landing more manageable.
The total landing distance of 1,682 meters was 55% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and was able to bring it to a stop safely and efficiently.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down smoothly and coming to a stop within a reasonable distance. The score of 97.6% reflects the high level of proficiency demonstrated by the pilot and the aircraft's performance during the landing.
