MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: centreline 3.1° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,934 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 13 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The 2.30 G arrival is the firm side of smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A220-300 taxied from the parking area to runway 04R at LFMN Nice-Côte d’Azur Airport in 4 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 04R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 137 kt and became airborne after a takeoff distance of 1,519 m, representing 51 % of the runway. Local weather at the time was 16 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 270°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and a tail-wind component of 1 kt.
The initial climb commenced overhead LFMN, climbing from 794 ft asl to 31,991 ft asl, an increase of 31,196 ft achieved in 20 minutes while covering 112 nm.
A level cruise segment began 2 mi south-east of Torrazza, Italy, lasting 18 minutes and extending over 139 nm.
Descent started over Fornace, Italy, with the aircraft descending from 32,000 ft asl to 13,490 ft asl, a loss of 18,511 ft in 9 minutes and covering 60 nm.
A subsequent cruise phase originated 5 mi west of Gschnitz, Austria, lasting 3 minutes and spanning 9 nm.
The next climb began 3 mi south-east of Umhausen, Austria, raising the altitude from 13,709 ft asl to 14,378 ft asl, an increase of 670 ft in 2 minutes while traveling 6 nm.
Following that, a descent commenced 3 mi west of Umhausen, Austria, lowering the aircraft from 13,860 ft asl to 2,648 ft asl, a decrease of 11,212 ft in 12 minutes and covering 53 nm.
The final approach to runway 08 at LOWI Innsbruck Airport was conducted from the west, on a heading of 80.0° at 2 nm and 733 ft agl.
Landing on runway 08 was executed with a threshold speed of 124 kt, a touchdown distance of 11 m and a touchdown speed of 124 kt. The touchdown rate was minus 1,322 fpm and the touchdown point was offset 8.9 m from the centreline. Local conditions were 15 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 299°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and a tail-wind component of 1 kt.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,148 m, equivalent to 59 % of the runway, and the aircraft’s centreline alignment during rollout was offset by 13.1 m.
The Airbus A220-300 taxied from the runway to the parking area in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 383 nm, required 74 minutes, and used minus 4,433 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A220-300 conducted the final approach to runway 08 at LOWI Innsbruck Airport from the west, maintaining a heading of 80.0° at 2 nm and 733 ft agl.
At threshold the aircraft achieved a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 124 kt, which was slightly below the target. The touchdown distance was good at 11 m and the touchdown speed of 124 kt was good.
Touchdown occurred with a very heavy vertical rate of minus 1,322 fpm. The touchdown point was misaligned by 8.9 m from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 1,148 m, representing 59 % of the 1,934 m runway, and the rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 13.1 m from the centreline.
To reduce the heavy vertical rate, refine flare timing to achieve a smoother transition to touchdown. Improving centreline tracking during the flare and rollout will bring touchdown and rollout positions within tighter tolerances.
