Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 880 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 880 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 401 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Beechcraft Sierra C24R taxied from the parking area to runway 26 at EGHP Popham Airfield in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nm on the ground.
During the departure roll on runway 26, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 51 kt and became airborne after a take-off run of 263 m, which represented 30 % of the available runway. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 15 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 270°, no cross-wind component and a 2 kt head-wind.
The right-hand pattern entry from runway 26 was completed in 49 seconds while traveling less than 1 nm. The subsequent cross-wind segment covered less than 1 nm in 25 seconds. The downwind turn spanned 2 nm with an angle to the runway of 61.7° (45° reference) and was followed by a downwind leg of 2 nm completed in 46 seconds. The base-turn segment also measured 2 nm with an angle to the runway of 67.2° (45° reference), after which the base leg covered less than 1 nm in 37 seconds. The final turn to the runway approached over a distance of 1 nm in 53 seconds, positioning the aircraft for landing.
Landing was executed on runway 26, whose total length is 880 m. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 68 kt. Touchdown occurred 266 m down the runway at a speed of 51 kt, with a smooth vertical rate of minus 144 fpm and perfect runway-centerline alignment. Local weather remained temperature 15 °C, wind 2 kt from 269°, with zero cross-wind and a 2 kt head-wind. The total landing roll measured 381 m, representing 43 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment remained perfect throughout the deceleration phase, confirming the aircraft stayed on the centreline to the end of the roll.
In total, the flight covered 14 nm, lasted 14 minutes, and consumed 3 kg of fuel.
The Beechcraft Sierra C24R approached runway 26 at EGHP in calm conditions, with temperature 15 °C, wind 2 kt from 269°, no cross-wind component and a 2 kt head-wind. The aircraft was aligned for an 880 m runway and the overall landing score was 97.8 %.
During the threshold and flare phase the threshold height was reported as good and the threshold speed was slightly below target at 68 kt.
Touchdown occurred 266 m down the runway at a speed of 51 kt, with a smooth vertical rate of minus 144 fpm and perfect runway alignment.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 381 m, representing 43 % of the runway, and the rollout alignment remained perfect.
Maintain precise control of the threshold speed to meet the published target, as the slight undershoot at 68 kt was the most notable deviation. Continued focus on speed management through flare will preserve the high overall performance reflected in the 97.8 % score.
