Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,594 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,594 m of the 3,547 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 558 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at MDLR Casa De Campo International Airport, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 11, with a takeoff distance of 1,463 meters, which is 50% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 33°C temperature and a wind speed of 18 knots at 90°. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the headwind was 18 knots. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb started 1 mile east of MDLR Casa De Campo International Airport, where the aircraft climbed from 1,052 feet above sea level to 3,661 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,609 feet in 1 minute, covering 3 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 3 miles south of MDMA Magdalena Cuya Airport, where the aircraft descended from 4,379 feet above sea level to 3,457 feet above sea level, a decrease of 921 feet in 2 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 2 miles west of MDBG Baigua Airport and lasted 2 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles. Another enroute climb started 7 miles west of Salvaleon de Higueey, where the aircraft climbed from 3,276 feet above sea level to 37,268 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,993 feet in 17 minutes, covering 110 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then started 4 miles south west of Cabarete and lasted 76 minutes, covering 544 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 64 miles south west of MYAF Andros Town Airport, where the aircraft descended from 37,414 feet above sea level to 1,297 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,118 feet in 27 minutes, covering 121 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 09 at KMIA Miami International Airport was from the west, heading 87.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,278 feet above ground level.
The aircraft landed on runway 09 at KMIA Miami International Airport, which has a length of 3,547 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 146 knots. The touchdown point was 139 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -323 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.2 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 32°C temperature and a wind speed of 14 knots at 110°. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the headwind was 13 knots. The total landing distance was 1,511 meters, which is 43% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.7 meters from the centreline. After landing, the aircraft taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 6 minutes and covered 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 803 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 139 minutes. The aircraft used 3,582 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at Miami International Airport (KMIA) on runway 09, achieving a score of 90.7%. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 87.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,278 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was well-executed, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed that was well above the target at 146 knots.
However, there were a few areas for improvement. The touchdown point was 139 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft touched down slightly further down the runway than intended. Additionally, the touchdown speed of 133 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate was firm at -323 feet per minute (fpm). This suggests that the aircraft may have experienced a slight bounce or jolt upon touchdown.
Furthermore, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.2 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the slightly misaligned runway rollout alignment of 12.7 meters from the centerline. This misalignment could have been caused by a combination of factors, including wind and pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 32°C and a wind speed of 14 knots from 110°. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 13 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's approach and landing. Despite these challenges, the pilot successfully navigated the aircraft to a safe touchdown.
The total landing distance was 1,511 meters, which is 43% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and safely. Overall, while there were some areas for improvement, the pilot's performance was satisfactory, and the aircraft landed safely at KMIA.
