Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,983 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,948 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft flown for this flight was a M500, which started its departure roll on runway 27 at Grand Haven Memorial Airport. The takeoff distance was 603 feet, accounting for 16% of the runway. The plane achieved liftoff speed of 108 knots within a short distance. The local weather conditions upon departure included a temperature of 59 degrees Fahrenheit, winds at 9 knots at a bearing of 330 degrees, a crosswind of 7 knots, and a headwind of 4 knots.
As the plane climbed out of Grand Haven Memorial Airport, it reached an altitude of 2,477 feet above sea level, increasing by 1,455 feet in 1 minute and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 3 miles south of the airport, and descended by 611 feet in 2 minutes, while covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
Following the descent, the plane leveled off and remained in a cruise mode for 6 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. This level cruise started 6 miles north of Park Township Airport, but the exact altitude or the purpose of cruising is not mentioned.
Upon approaching West Michigan Regional Airport, the plane began its final approach to runway 26 from the east, heading due east at an altitude of 180 feet above ground level. The landing occurred at a temperature of 59 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds at 9 knots at a bearing of 330 degrees, a crosswind of 8 knots, and a headwind of 3 knots.
The landing itself was successful, with a touchdown point 544 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The plane landed at a speed of 95 knots, which was faster than the target speed. However, the touchdown rate was perfect at 28 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. Following the landing, the plane rolled out on the runway and used 41 pounds of fuel.
Overall, the total landing distance was 3,190 feet, accounting for 53% of the available runway. The landing was considered successful with a very good runway rollout alignment. The total flight distance covered by the plane was 20 nautical miles.
A Cessna M500 aircraft successfully landed at KBIV West Michigan Regional Airport on runway 26. The approach was initiated from the east, heading in a direction of 257.0° at an altitude of 180 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway.
The aircraft's approach strategy allowed for a successful touchdown, as indicated by a good threshold height and runway touchdown alignment. The threshold speed, however, was above the target value at 108 knots. This discrepancy may have been due to various factors such as wind conditions or aircraft settings. In this case, the wind conditions were characterized as a 9-knot headwind with a crosswind component of 8 knots.
The touchdown point was 544 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 95 knots, which was also somewhat above the optimal speed for a safe landing. On the other hand, the touchdown rate of -28 feet per minute (fpm) was considered perfect, signifying that the aircraft's descent was smoothly controlled.
Following the touchdown, the aircraft's runway rollout alignment was found to be very good, indicating a smooth transition from flight to the ground. The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 3,190 feet, which equates to 53% of the available runway length (5,983 feet). Overall, the landing was considered a success, with the aircraft landing safely within the designated parameters.
