MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,692 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 617 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EGGD Bristol Airport. This process took approximately 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 27, with the aircraft taking off after covering 53% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 989 meters, and the liftoff speed was 145 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 15 knots blowing from 189°. This resulted in a crosswind of 15 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb approximately 1 mile south east of Brockley, North Somerset, England, and ascended from an altitude of 1,426 feet above sea level to 24,435 feet above sea level, an increase of 23,010 feet in 10 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 40 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started approximately 1 mile south east of EGCQ Lower Upham Farm Airfield Chiseldon, Borough of Swindon, England. This cruise phase lasted for 10 minutes and covered a distance of 69 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent from 24,449 feet above sea level to 11,192 feet above sea level, a decrease of 13,257 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 74 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another level cruise phase, this time overhead Gueures, Normandie, France, and lasted for 16 minutes, covering a distance of 42 nautical miles. The final descent phase began overhead Bezu-Saint-Eloi, Normandie, France, and the aircraft descended from 10,890 feet above sea level to 1,676 feet above sea level, a decrease of 9,214 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 33 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09L at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 85.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,320 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 09L, which had a length of 2,692 meters. The threshold height at 87 feet above ground level was significantly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 132 knots.
The touchdown point was 190 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 125 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was fair at -263 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots blowing from 136°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,243 meters, which was 46% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took approximately 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 265 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 68 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 2,415 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport, achieving an overall score of 86.4%. The final approach to runway 09L was initiated from the west, with a heading of 85.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,320 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the touchdown point located 190 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone. The touchdown speed of 125 knots was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -263 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have maintained a more stable rate of descent.
The threshold height at 87 feet agl was significantly above the target, which may have contributed to the slightly higher touchdown rate. Nevertheless, the threshold speed of 132 knots was good, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled during the approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 136°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. These conditions were relatively calm, which likely contributed to the smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,243 meters was 46% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft had sufficient runway remaining for safe deceleration. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown speed and a very good runway rollout alignment. However, the slightly higher touchdown rate and above-target threshold height may indicate areas for improvement in the approach and landing phase.
