MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
At the 500 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,997 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 569 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 03 at ESSV Visby Airport, a small airport located on the island of Gotland in Sweden. The Airbus A320 aircraft accelerated down the runway, covering a distance of 539 meters, which was 27% of the runway's total length. The aircraft lifted off the ground at a speed of 157 knots, marking the start of its ascent.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it encountered a local weather condition of 18°C temperature and a gentle wind of 2 knots from a direction of 269°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 2 knots, while the tailwind component was 1 knot. The aircraft climbed from an initial altitude of 1,190 feet above sea level to 3,017 feet, a vertical gain of 1,827 feet, in just 1 minute. During this time, the aircraft covered a horizontal distance of 4 nautical miles.
After reaching its initial cruising altitude, the aircraft leveled off and began a 3-minute cruise, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. This was followed by a descent from 3,013 feet to 1,372 feet, a vertical loss of 1,641 feet, in 3 minutes. The aircraft covered a horizontal distance of 10 nautical miles during this descent.
The aircraft then leveled off again and began a second cruise, this time lasting 2 minutes and covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. After completing this cruise, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 21 at ESSV Visby Airport, flying from the north at a heading of 201.0° and an altitude of 1,144 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 142 knots, which was slightly faster than the target speed. The touchdown point was 158 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the aircraft's touchdown rate was firm at -388 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway.
The aircraft's total landing distance was 1,031 meters, which was 52% of the runway's total length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled during its rollout. The total flight distance was 38 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 12 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 547 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at ESSV Visby Airport, achieving a score of 90.8%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north, heading 201.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,144 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 21, which has a length of 1,997 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 158 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal touchdown point. The touchdown speed was recorded at 142 knots, which is considered fast. The touchdown rate was firm, measuring -388 feet per minute (fpm), suggesting a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 17°C and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 269°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions likely contributed to the successful landing.
The total landing distance was 1,031 meters, which accounts for 52% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some areas for improvement, such as the touchdown speed and the touchdown point. However, the aircraft's performance was generally good, and the crew's skills were demonstrated through the perfect runway touchdown and rollout alignment.
