MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,728 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,728 m of the 4,864 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 573 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking to the runway at Larnaca International Airport, taking 11 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 22, with a takeoff distance of 1,772 meters, which was 63% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 148 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 19°C and winds of 15 knots at 60°. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the tailwind was 14 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Meneou, Cyprus, where the aircraft climbed from 1,052 feet above sea level to 35,006 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,953 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 135 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 12 miles east of Bcharre, Lebanon, and lasted for 52 minutes, covering a distance of 428 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 34,998 feet above sea level to 37,009 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,011 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 33 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its journey, with another enroute level cruise starting 73 miles southwest of Rafha Domestic Airport, Saudi Arabia, and lasting for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 85 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 37,001 feet above sea level to 38,279 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,278 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent, starting 67 miles west of King Khaled Military City Airport, Saudi Arabia. The descent from 39,131 feet above sea level to 37,539 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,592 feet in 2 minutes, covered a distance of 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise, starting 54 miles west of King Khaled Military City Airport, and lasting for 40 minutes, covering a distance of 380 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 16L at Hamad International Airport began 2 miles north of Fuwayrit, Qatar, with the aircraft descending from 36,996 feet above sea level to 1,271 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,725 feet in 25 minutes, covering a distance of 44 nautical miles.
The landing took place on runway 16L, with a runway length of 4,864 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 140 knots. The touchdown point was 157 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 131 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -280 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.1 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 19°C and winds of 7 knots at 50°, with a crosswind of 7 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 1,647 meters, which was 34% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,144 nautical miles, taking 171 minutes, and the aircraft used 6,563 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at OTHH Hamad International Airport on runway 16L, achieving a score of 95.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 158.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,245 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was executed on a runway with a length of 4,864 meters, and the threshold height was reported as good.
During the final approach, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target threshold speed of 140 knots, which may have contributed to a slightly faster touchdown speed. The touchdown point was 157 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 131 knots was also a little faster than desired, and the touchdown rate of -280 feet per minute was considered fair.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 19°C and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 50°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's alignment and speed during the landing. Despite these conditions, the runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the aircraft maintained a stable and controlled descent during the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,647 meters was 34% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and stability during the final approach and touchdown.
