Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 13,436 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,878 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a short taxiing period from the parking to the runway, taking approximately 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 01 at KMNE Minden-Webster Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,825 feet, which accounted for 36% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 149 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile north of KMNE Minden-Webster Airport, rising from an altitude of 1,232 feet above sea level to 15,009 feet above sea level, an increase of 13,777 feet in just 6 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 20 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise began 5 miles south of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, and lasted for 23 minutes, covering a distance of 136 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 2 miles north of Farmersville, Texas, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 15,002 feet above sea level to 1,892 feet above sea level, a decrease of 13,110 feet in 11 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 37 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 18R at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 180.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,313 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 18R, which had a length of 13,436 feet, was slightly above the target threshold height at 64 feet above ground level. The threshold speed was too high at 115 knots, and the touchdown point was 1,455 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 94 knots, which was a little fast, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -150 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 23 feet from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 4,042 feet, which accounted for 30% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 32 feet from the centreline. After landing, the aircraft took 1 minute to taxi to the parking, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 200 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 47 minutes. Notably, the aircraft used 0 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation aircraft successfully landed at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, but with some areas for improvement. The final approach was initiated from the north, heading 180.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,313 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 18R, which has a length of 13,436 feet.
However, there were some discrepancies during the landing. The threshold height at 64 feet agl was above the target, indicating that the aircraft may have been slightly high on its approach. Additionally, the threshold speed was too high at 115 knots, which could have contributed to the aircraft's high touchdown speed. The touchdown point was 1,455 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 94 knots was a little fast.
Despite these issues, the touchdown rate was smooth at -150 feet per minute (fpm), which is a positive aspect of the landing. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 23 feet from the centreline, which could have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 59°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. There was no crosswind or headwind, which made the landing conditions favorable.
The total landing distance was 4,042 feet, which is 30% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, but it could have been shorter if the aircraft had touched down closer to the touchdown zone. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 32 feet from the centreline, which could have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's rollout path.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there are areas for improvement in terms of approach path management, touchdown speed, and runway alignment.
