Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 11,467 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,025 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a FNX320_TCACFM, then departed from runway 29 at SBEG Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus, Brazil. The takeoff distance was 4,718 feet, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 150 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 80°F temperature and a wind speed of 2 knots at 310°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was also 1 knot. The enroute climb started 1 mile west of the airport and reached an altitude of 37,720 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,497 feet in 37 minutes, covering a distance of 269 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 20 miles north of SWEU Ecotur Univini Park Airport in Caracaraí, Brazil, and lasted for 65 minutes, covering a distance of 506 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 6 miles north of SVKE Santa Maria de Ipire Airport in Santa Maria de Ipire, Venezuela, and descended from 37,964 feet to 4,298 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,666 feet in 39 minutes, covering a distance of 163 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise 12 miles northwest of Catia La Mar, Venezuela, and lasted for 8 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 9 miles west of Catia La Mar and descended from 3,540 feet to 1,520 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,020 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10 at SVMI Simón Bolívar International Airport was from the west, heading 88.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,323 feet above ground level. However, the aircraft went around at 235 feet above ground level. The landing was eventually made on runway 10, which had a length of 11,467 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 129 knots.
The touchdown point was 656 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 119 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -218 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 16 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 79°F temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 53°.
The total landing distance was 3,934 feet, which accounted for 34% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 8 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 968 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 192 minutes. The aircraft used 16,917 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, FNX320_TCACFM, successfully landed on runway 10 at SVMI Simón Bolívar International Airport, achieving a score of 89.2%. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 88.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,323 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed on a runway with a length of 11,467 feet, providing ample space for the aircraft to touch down and come to a stop. The threshold height at 135 feet agl was found to be excessively over target, indicating that the aircraft may have been slightly high during the approach. However, the threshold speed was good, reaching 128 knots, which is a desirable speed for landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 119 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate, however, was fair at -218 feet per minute (fpm), suggesting that the aircraft may have touched down with a slightly higher rate of descent than desired. The touchdown point was 656 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively long distance, but not excessively so.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 16 feet from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 79°F and a gentle wind of 4 knots at 53°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 3,934 feet, which is 34% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to come to a stop quickly and efficiently. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a good score. However, there were some minor issues with the threshold height and touchdown rate, which may be addressed in future training exercises.
