MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,470 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,058 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 07 at the Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City, Belize. The takeoff distance was 4,898 feet, which accounted for 69% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 153 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 87°F and winds of 2 knots at 110°. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 2 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile east of the airport and reached an altitude of 30,997 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,936 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 104 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 2 miles south of Travesia in Honduras, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 13 nautical miles. However, this was followed by a descent from 30,994 feet to 10,321 feet above sea level, a decrease of 20,674 feet in 9 minutes, covering 63 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 7 miles southeast of Esquias in Honduras, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering 17 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another descent, starting 2 miles southwest of MHLF Flefil Airport in Talanga, Honduras, and descended from 9,930 feet to 4,595 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,335 feet in 8 minutes, covering 21 nautical miles. Following this, the aircraft climbed from 4,588 feet to 7,569 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,982 feet in 3 minutes, covering 9 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 6 miles north of Tegucigalpa in Honduras, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 5 nautical miles. However, this was followed by another descent, starting 3 miles northeast of MHTA Tamara Airport in Honduras, and descended from 7,309 feet to 3,385 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,924 feet in 5 minutes, covering 10 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 02 at MHTG Toncontín International Airport was made from the south, heading 20.0° at 0 nautical miles and 127 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on the runway, which was 5,470 feet long, with a good threshold height. The threshold speed was good at 136 knots, and the touchdown point was 660 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 128 knots, which was good, while the touchdown rate was hard at -432 feet per minute.
The total landing distance was 3,922 feet, accounting for 72% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 247 nautical miles, taking 59 minutes, and the aircraft used 6,527 pounds of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at MHTG Toncontín International Airport, achieving a high score of 96.2%. The final approach to runway 02 was conducted from the south, with a heading of 20.0° at an altitude of 127 feet above ground level (agl) and a distance of 0 nautical miles from the runway.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold speed of 136 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown point was located 660 feet beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight overrun. However, the touchdown speed of 128 knots was also considered good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing.
The touchdown rate was reported as hard, with a rate of -432 feet per minute (fpm). This is a relatively high rate, but it did not appear to have any significant impact on the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 68°F and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 120°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 0 knots. The total landing distance was 3,922 feet, which is 72% of the runway length. This is a relatively long landing distance, but it was still within the acceptable limits.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft maintained its alignment with the runway during the rollout phase of the landing. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and handling during the landing.
