Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,731 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,731 m of the 1,881 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 436 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking to the runway at EGKK London Gatwick Airport, taking 8 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 26L, with a takeoff distance of 1,279 meters, which was 51% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 157 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 15°C and winds of 20 knots at 210°. The crosswind was 15 knots, and the headwind was 14 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Charlwood, Surrey, England, where the aircraft climbed from 1,290 feet above sea level to 3,876 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,586 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 1 mile south-west of Ockley, Surrey, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The enroute climb started again overhead EGGK Chilsfold Farm Airstrip, Chiddingfold, West Sussex, England, where the aircraft climbed from 3,884 feet above sea level to 7,475 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,591 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile west of Milland, West Sussex, England, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles. The enroute climb started again 2 miles south-west of Monk Sherborne, Hampshire, England, where the aircraft climbed from 8,254 feet above sea level to 9,817 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,562 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile south of Winterbourne, West Berkshire, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 2 miles north of Lambourn, West Berkshire, England, where the aircraft descended from 9,796 feet above sea level to 7,843 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,953 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 2 miles north-east of Swindon, Borough of Swindon, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The enroute descent started overhead Brinkworth, Wiltshire, England, where the aircraft descended from 7,831 feet above sea level to 1,884 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,947 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 25 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at EGGD Bristol Airport was from the east, heading 267.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,265 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 27, which was 1,881 meters long. The threshold height was slightly above target, but the threshold speed was good at 136 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 435 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 130 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -300 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.8 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 12°C and winds of 21 knots at 200°. The crosswind was 19 knots, and the headwind was 8 knots. The total landing distance was 1
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at EGGD Bristol Airport, achieving a score of 91.4%. The final approach to runway 27 was initiated from the east, heading 267.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,265 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 435 meters, which was considered good. However, the touchdown speed of 130 knots was slightly faster than the target speed. The touchdown rate was firm at -300 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 3.8 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C, with a wind speed of 21 knots at 200°. The crosswind component was 19 knots, while the headwind component was 8 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,648 meters was 88% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was well-controlled during the landing phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown distance and a firm touchdown rate. However, the slightly fast touchdown speed and misaligned touchdown position may be areas for improvement in future landings.
