MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,172 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,235 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 10 at RJOA Hiroshima Airport. The takeoff distance was 2,327 feet, which accounted for 24% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 133 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 44 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 284 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 4 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead RJOA Hiroshima Airport and involved ascending from an altitude of 2,101 feet above sea level to 35,373 feet above sea level. This increase in altitude of 33,273 feet was achieved in 12 minutes and covered a distance of 45 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 6 miles southwest of Iwakuni and lasted for 4 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 26 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase began 5 miles north of Hofu and involved descending from an altitude of 35,342 feet above sea level to 1,903 feet above sea level. This decrease in altitude of 33,439 feet was achieved in 18 minutes and covered a distance of 67 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 5 miles northwest of Shingu and lasted for 3 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 8 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 16 at RJFF Fukuoka Airport was made from the northwest, with the aircraft heading 150.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,101 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 16 at RJFF Fukuoka Airport was characterized by a touchdown distance of 1,227 feet, which was good. However, the touchdown speed of 109 knots was slightly fast, and the touchdown rate of -423 feet per minute was hard. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 13 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 45 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 8 knots from a direction of 160 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 8 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,522 feet, which accounted for 27% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 152 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 48 minutes. The aircraft used 894 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation aircraft successfully landed at RJFF Fukuoka Airport, but with some notable deviations from the ideal landing parameters. The aircraft approached the runway from the northwest, heading 150.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,101 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was conducted with a significant height above the threshold, at 87 feet agl, which was above the target height.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target at 117 knots, and the touchdown distance was within the acceptable range at 1,227 feet. However, the touchdown speed of 109 knots was considered fast, and the touchdown rate was hard at -423 feet per minute (fpm). This indicates that the aircraft touched down with a relatively high rate of descent, which may have contributed to the hard touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 13 feet, which may have been due to the crosswind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 45°F and a wind speed of 8 knots at 160°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 8 knots, which may have contributed to the slight misalignment.
The total landing distance of 2,522 feet was 27% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some deviations from the ideal parameters, which may be addressed through further training or adjustments to the aircraft's configuration.
